• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Peter offers Danni the chance to share his experiment with him. Was he just trying to distract her so he could get her later, since she'd already shown she was getting suspicious about everything? Or was he sincerely lonely and asking her to be his companion?
  • At the end, a now elderly Peter wishes Danni goodbye and how he's going to reunite with his family. Has returning to his actual age caused him to recognize how monstrous he had been for decades and is now willing to stop running from the inevitable? Or, in a more cynical sense, has he given up because his age and the difficulty of fixing his machine means that it'd be impossible to claim a new victim?
• Fridge Brilliance:
  • Peter's use of mirrors for his scheme. As The Mirror Shows Your True Self and he's reluctant to have his picture taken (mirror based photography) it should logically go the other way around; the mirror would show his victims their normal selves and thus make them less likely to get suspicious.
  • Peter's plot containing ten dogs as well. Obviously, those are from families that brought pets on vacations too. And with him being a scientist, he'd also want to experiment to see if draining from animals would have similar effects (in the event he has to nab an animal if people are in short supply).
  • And while it's sad that there are so many children in the plot, it makes sense that there would be more than the adults. Think of families with three or four kids going to stay there. It was probably a very desirable destination for big families. Danni was probably the unusual one.
• Fridge Horror: Although Danni stops Peter from draining her parents, it looks as though the multiple people he drained over the years are dead for good. And Danni being a child and never telling the truth to her parents means the families of the victims will likely never know what happened to them.
