** Peter's use of mirrors for his scheme. As TheMirrorShowsYourTrueSelf and he's reluctant to have his picture taken (mirror based photography) it should logically go the other way around; the mirror would show his victims their normal selves and thus make them less likely to get suspicious.
** Peter's plot containing ten dogs as well. Obviously, those are from families that brought pets on vacations too. And with him being a scientist, he'd also want to experiment to see if draining from animals would have similar effects (in the event he has to nab an animal if people are in short supply).
