- Narm: Jimmy Stewart narrating a driver's education film with a tragic ending, thanks to his distinctive drawl. (Especially since his voice was ripe to parody.)
- Values Dissonance: The 10-year-old daughter of the widowed mother staying home from school to babysit her 3-year-old brother when their mother goes to work. (A neighbor even remarks, "Playing hooky again?"). This was likely far more common in an era when daycare for working-class families was unaffordable, much less even available for anyone but the rich.
