• Alternative Character Interpretation: Given the revelation in this episode that the Core can communicate directly to Andrias through his crown, and given his reluctance to use Marcy as a host for the Core, the question is raised... in "True Colors", when Andrias says "Now look what you made me do" after stabbing Marcy, could he have actually been talking to the Core?
• Narm: The faces Anne and Sasha make at the beginning of Marcy's hologram nightmare look a little too silly to take seriously. Sasha's frown is very exaggerated while Anne's face, on the other hand, looks like a little kid frowning in disapproval.
• It's Short, So It Sucks!: In the same vein of "Turning Point", some fans are disappointed by the fact that, since it is a Darker and Edgier heavy-plotted episode, it should be longer just like "Reunion", "Marcy at the Gates", "The First Temple" and "True Colors". It doesn't help that many found the idea of putting a lighthearted, silly episode with an almost straight-up horror episode together to be very dissonant.
• She Really Can Act: Let's just say Haley Tju can really make Marcy's Painful Transformation into Darcy sound so chilling.
• Shocking Moments: Marcy having the Core transferred into her brain while she screams in pain.
• What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: With this being one of Amphibia's darkest episodes to date on account of the fears created by the Lotus-Eater Machine along with the Core painfully downloading itself onto Marcy as she screams in agony, many fans were surprised that this episode didn't come with a Content Warning like in "True Colors".
