YMMV / All Dressed in White

  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Right from the get-go, all the clues so obviously point to Jeff having killed Amanda (with Sandra even laying out in-depth why she thinks it's him in the first twenty pages) that to any mystery-savvy reader it's obvious that he's not guilty. This is may be a case where it's by design, given the eventual revelation that the actual killer was trying to frame Jeff, so naturally there would be a lot of evidence against him.
  • Fridge Horror: Nick uses ketamine to drug Meghan and Amanda, remarking that he wished he knew about it in college as it would've made abducting Carly easier. Considering that Nick is well versed in how ketamine works and how to obtain it, Nick's entitled and misogynistic attitude towards women and ketamine's reputation as a date rape drug, it makes you wonder if murder isn't the only crime he's guilty of.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Jeff and Meghan's parents are mentioned in passing and the former's parents were invited to his ill-fated wedding with Amanda, but they never appear in the novel, nor do they get much in the way of characterisation. It seems like a missed opportunity to get more detail on their opinions on subjects like Amanda as a person and her disappearance, the belief that one or both their children was involved, and Jeff and Meghan's controversial marriage (Meghan hints that her parents, at the very least, were taken aback by the relationship).
