- Americans Hate Tingle: American critics are decidedly less forgiving about the Dawson Casting and Digital De-Aging used for Aline's youth in the film than French critics are (the focus in France is rather on Valérie Lemercier's acting, and it's been quite positive since she won the César Award for Best Actress for it).
- Broken Base: French fans of Céline Dion are split, between those who think it's a well-meaning, funny and touching homage to the singer and those who think it should have remained a silly idea in Valérie Lemercier's mind.
- Special Effect Failure: The Digital De-Aging used for Aline's young face in closeups... isn't convincing at all. Then again, having a 57 year old actress' face resemble a 15 year old's is quite a challenge when you're not ILM or WETA.
