What Could Have Been / Hell's Kitchen Roleplay

Go To

As the seasons are planned months in advance, several chefs and plans from the roleplay inevitably get scrapped as a result of this.

Season 1

  • In Season 1, Corny was originally meant to make the black jackets instead of ninth place. It's unknown however who he would replace.

Season 2

  • In Season 2, Ewan was meant to be eliminated during the Cook For Your Life challenge, but Chris's sabotage resulted in him being eliminated instead.
  • Additionally, Ewan was meant to be eliminated in 10th place after crashing hard, but his user taking him out early prevented that.

Season 3

  • Season 3's Terrence was originally meant to be ejected in 14th place, but after the character proved to be extremely unpopular in test runs, he was made to be eliminated early on. There were even plans on ejecting him first instead of Shaggy.
  • At one point, Brynn was set to be eliminated from the winning team in 11th place, but it was scrapped in favor of the return of the battle of the sexes return.

Season 4

  • Season 4 (All-Stars) initially was set to have Jangue make the black jackets, before replacing him with Dee, who himself would've placed 8th. Additionally, Craig would've made 7th, but due to inactivity from his user, he dropped to 12th.
  • According to a few rumors, Hunter was also considered to make the black jackets, but was dropped due to the amount of Season 2 chefs already in there.
  • Elise was originally meant to place 11th overall instead of Bobby, who himself would've placed 12th.
  • Jackie's and Carol's placements from Season 4 were also flipped.
  • Jesse was at one point considered to return, but he was scrapped from the season and replaced with Hunter.
  • During Episode 10, Kelly was supposed to have a minor mistake during service, but the host had forgotten to give it to her, thus explaining her nomination that episode despite not having made any mistakes.

Season 6

  • Season 6 would've featured a chef named Fla Tearther, but he was scrapped due to server drama. He was eventually replaced by Max.

Season 7

  • Season 7 had several chefs planned such as Jane Christine, Miranda Brooks, Mike Hawk, and Lee Hyun-Woo, but they were dropped due to either server drama or users dropping out. Hawk and Hyun-Woo are an interesting case as both characters were later repurposed into eventual winner, Dae-Jung "DJ" Park.
  • One chef named Samuel Burke was planned for the season, with his gimmick being a recovering addict who had a drinking problem. He was scrapped due to concerns over how his run would work out, and he was replaced by Rohan.
  • During the season's production, Ben, Donna, and Heather were meant to be eliminated earlier, with Donna and Ben placing fifth and sixth respectively while Heather would be eliminated 11th in a Cook For Your Life challenge.
  • Paula, Gina and Tommy were meant to be in the final four alongside DJ, but due to Tommy's user dropping out before the black jackets, Paula not managing to be taken seriously, and Gina's unpopularity, they were changed to Ben, Donna, and Heather respectively. In fact, in Gina’s case, she was supposed to make the Final 4 for the longest time, all the way up until Episode 15’s elimination ceremony. Donna was originally planned to be eliminated but the host eliminated Gina at the last second because of how boring she was.
  • Additionally, Georgie was meant to make the final five, but the user's inability to go mistake-less resulted in those plans being scrapped.
  • Georgie's real name was originally going to be Georgia, but it was changed to Georgina for unknown reasons, before finally being changed to Georgie to avoid confusion with Gina.
  • The first episode would've featured Paula as the Best of the Worst, but a user given mistake scrapped that idea. It was then nearly given to Gina, but a potential mistake (that was later revealed to have not happened at all), caused that to be scrapped, finally resulting in the distinction going to Mai.

Season 8

  • Season 8 was meant to feature characters like Ermanno Martinez, Eliza "Ellie" Murphy, and Hugo Lorenzo, but they were all scrapped, with Ermanno and Hugo being replaced by Victor and Kylian respectively.
  • Season 8 also was planned to feature a chef named Brianna, who was described as being absolutely toxic and would've served as the Arch-Enemy to Morgana throughout the season and would've been eliminated at the final 7. Additionally, there were plans that she would've been part of a Love Triangle alongside Morgana and Frankie. Funnily enough, while those plans were scrapped, the love triangle went on, only with Fifi and Donovan taking their place and the dynamic changing up a bit.
  • Scott was originally supposed to be switched over to the red team, but it was changed to Donovan.
  • Donovan was originally meant to make 11th place, but server drama as well as the general unpopularity of the character resulted in his character being eliminated earlier.
  • Sal was originally supposed to place 12th overall, but he was moved up to 9th.
  • Morgana was originally meant to place 7th overall, but was changed to make black jackets.
  • Frankie's surname was originally "Caruso", before it was changed to Marzano.

Season 9

  • So, so many characters were planned for the season, but were scrapped, mostly due to their users either dropping out or leaving the server.
  • A character named Lavender Promise was planned to be in the season. Not much is known about her personality but she was planned to speak in a British-ish accent. The user scrapped the character and later replaced her with Nicole.
  • A character named Mike Rotch (later changed to Mike Silva for obvious reasons) was planned for the season, but was later removed because the user left the server. He was eventually replaced by Henry.
  • A character named Johnny Cage was planned for the season, but the user later decided to change them to David Kippa, a contestant based on a notable influencer. However, eventually the character was changed one last time to John Silva, who was not based on anyone.
  • A character named Delsie Stamps, a waitress, was planned to on the season, but due to issues within the server, their character was removed from the season. She was replaced by Nicole.
  • A character named Promise Jackson was planned to be in the season, but the user dropped out of the season and Katrina later replaced her.
  • Skip’s name was initially Skip Reeves, and later it was changed to Skip Stone-Stojanović.
  • Early in the application stage, for a brief period of time a character named Andrea Suarez was planned to be in the season, but the user then changed to Syed Ahmed.
  • Rina’s signature dish was supposed to receive a 5 out of 5, which would have given the red team a comfortable 2-point victory. However the score was changed last minute to a 3 when the dish turned out to be a lovely cheese pizza.
  • For the longest time, the first service was supposed to happen on the 2nd episode, where two people would be eliminated, one from the challenge and one from the service. (Similar to the first two episodes of real-life Hell’s Kitchen Seasons 19 and 20) but it was scrapped last minute in favor of there being a service in both the first two episodes, with the elimination challenge occurring on the second episode. This also led to a couple of placements being moved around.

Hell's Kitchen Amateurs: Season 1

  • During the production for Amateurs, a character named Sarah Trill was initially set to participate, but she was replaced by eventual winner, Heather.
  • Additionally, there were plans for a character named Omar and Gustavo Fring of all people to compete, but both were replaced by Billy and Nobert.

Hell's Kitchen Amateurs: Season 2

  • The second season of Amateurs would feature chefs Edward Collins, Andrew Parker, Jordan Joll, She'tia Williamson, and Jason Wallace. Jordan and Jason were actually even meant to become black jackets, with the latter even being set to run the pass.
  • Before the season was rebooted, Mitch and Edd were actually set to run the pass, but due to concerns about the former's schedule and the latter's frequency to make mistakes, this was going to be changed so that Mitch wouldn't run the pass, and Edd would be eliminated in 8th place.
  • The host was originally going to be Marco Pierre White, but it was changed back to Gordon at some point during the season.
  • At one point, Elizabeth was stated to have started making a comeback in service and actually be able to run the pass, but their user leaving resulted in that being scrapped. That also resulted in Tori being moved up to run the pass in her place. Altair was also being considered to run the pass in place of Bruno.
