The Little Twins is an incredibly rare Japanese animated series produced in 1992. It fleetingly aired on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. block in the summer of 1998, with an English theme song performed by Carly Simon. It later got an obscure DVD release in early 2004.
Centering on two tiny Lilliputian like twins named Petal and Piper, it takes place on an island in a world of similar Lilliputians. It centers around their everyday lives, and their encounters with regular-sized animals.
Unfortunately for old fans, the show has faded into near obscurity. Of course, considering it's fleeting run in North America, it's likely a lot of people never even knew about it long enough to tape it. A few VHS tapes still exist, which were printed in the late 1990s, but most people don't know about it.
This show provides examples of:
- Mouse World: A surreal race of tiny people who live on an island.
- Pink Means Feminine: Most females seem to wear deep pink clothes.
- Strawberry Shorthand: Piper brings Petal (who is scared to go outside because of snakes) a strawberry dessert in one episode.
- Title Character: Petal and Piper are the little twins.
