The Harper House is an adult animated Paramount+ original series created by Brad Neely and animated by Titmouse. The show's first season premiered on September 16, 2021, and concluded on November 4 of that same year.

The series focuses on the titular Harper family consisting of breadwinner Debbie (Rhea Seehorn), stay-at-home dad Freddie (Jason Lee), and twins Ollie and Todd (Tatiana Maslany and Ryan Flynn). After Debbie loses her job, she and her family are forced to move from their gated community to the poor side of town and into a run-down house they inherited. The Harpers try to navigate life in their newfound unsatisfactory living conditions while Debbie tries to regain the family's lost status.

On November 11, 2021, the show was canceled. On January 31, 2023, the show was removed from Paramount+.

Tropes found in the series:

  • Asian Rudeness: The Dangs, a Vietnamese family that owns a liquor store were rather dismissive towards the Harpers, who are a (formerly rich) white family. In the first episode, the mother Gwen didn't want to hear Debbie talk about her problems, and Grandma Dang briefly laughed when she heard they moved into old Maggie's house. Gwen's son JimJoe is shown to be a Spoiled Brat in the second episode; to which Gwen showed appreciation of Debbie sticking up for her against her son.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Debbie is a very heavyset but beautiful woman who often wears outfits that show off her big belly.
  • Camp Straight: Freddie Harper is a sweet and caring man who worries too much about what everyone thinks. Also in the episode "Baby Talk/Coupon Kid", while he supports his wife acting all Girly Girl to pitch her idea, he's grossed out when she tries it on him since he prefers "women, not girls".
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Todd Harper. The only thing "eerie" about him is his dickery.
  • Househusband: Freddie was a stay-at-home dad while his wife is the breadwinner. This is until his wife is home more often due to losing her old job.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Freddie has a habit of saying things that often come out as racist, which he's desperately trying to avoid.
  • Lonely Funeral: The Harpers are the only ones attending the funeral of the elderly couple that died in the house they moved in since their relatives forgot about them and no one even knew that they were still living there (nor bothered to check).
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Debbie is a hard-working wife who's doing what she can to reclaim her family's wealthy status and tends to get aggressive, while Freddie is a very emotional husband who tends to the kids.
  • Riches to Rags: The Harpers used to live in a gated community but had to move to the poor side of town after Debbie lost her job.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Between Freddie and his wife's best friend Tonya Acosta.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Freddie is afraid of possums.
