* CouchGag: Starting with Season 2, the "Best Freinds Hall of Fame" scene in the intro has Craig wearing two or three different disguises for each episode. Every episode of Season 1 just has him disguising as a cowboy, a cool dude, and a bearded guy in a suit.

* CoolLoser: The titular characters aren't that big in their little town, but they do have a lot of fun tricks up their sleeves.

* ThreeAmigos: Sanjay, Megan and Hector.
** Belle usually takes Megan's spot whenever the latter is absent.

* OffModel: This show is quite infamous for it. The look and quality of this series waffles between a 1980s Creator/HannaBarbera/[[Creator/DiCEntertainment DiC]] cartoon and a 2010s Creator/CartoonNetwork show depending on the scene. Doesn't help that it was animated at Creator/{{Saerom}}. (Which is known for having animation that is both [[WesternAnimation/WeBareBears good]] and [[WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer bad.]])

* EmbarassingDampSheets: Sanjay and Craig try hard not to wet the bed, but they ended up wetting Tufflips' guest bed. But Tufflips admitted he has wet the bed before.

* MixedAncestry: Sanjay is half Indian (his father is from India) and half white American, in probably one of the few times in American animation that they have a mixed-race child as the protagonist and not just a cheap prop in a VerySpecialEpisode about racial diversity or a supporting character to the white protagonist.

* WidgetSeries: It's definitely one of the strangest Nicktoons you can find, and that's saying a lot! See WorldOfWeirdness below.
