It was placed at #69 in ''Literature/The100GreatestLooneyTunes''.

* GratuitousGerman: The only actual German line in this cartoon is Hitler saying: "Ah, das ist gut".
* HarmlessElectrocution: After being kissed by Daffy the effect is electrifying to Hatta Mari.
* HaveAGayOldTime: The narrator says that the military officers are "usually gay birds, tonight they are grim." Made all the more unintentionally funny by their big grins.
* HeManWomanHater: Daffy claims that he can resist Hatta Mari, because he "hates woman". It doesn't stop [[MsFanservice Hatta]] [[NonMammalMammaries Mari]] from trying to seduce him (and succeeding).
* LemonyNarrator: The narrator serious tone is in sharp contrast with the wacky events that we see.
* MetaphoricMetamorphosis: After telling the military secrets while being drunk the pigeon briefly changes into a jackass.
* MsFanservice: For a pigeon Hatta Mari is very attractively animated and designed.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Hatta Mari is an obvious {{Expy}} of UsefulNotes/MataHari. UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler, Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Göring are featured in the cartoon.
* NonMammalMammaries: Hatta Mari has a buxom, despite being a pigeon.
* OminousFog: The allied headquarters are covered in gloomy mist.
* PropagandaMachine: This cartoon was obviously made for war time propaganda purposes.
* PunBasedTitle: "Plane Daffy" instead of "plain daffy".
* TheScottishTrope: The narrator doesn't mention Hitler's name, but calls him "you know who...".
* ShoutOut:
** Pigeon 13's voice is similar to Mortimer Snerd, a puppet used by Creator/EdgarBergen at the time. His voice was also used for the Looney Tunes character Beaky Buzzard.
** Hatta Mari's voice seems to be a parody of Creator/MarleneDietrich.
** When Daffy kisses Hatta Mari back he exclaims: "Aha, something new has been added!", which was the slogan for the "Old Gold" cigarettes commercials.
** Daffy's regret that he has only "one secret to swallow for his country" is a paraphrase of American soldier Nathan Hale who was executed during the [[UsefulNotes/TheAmericanRevolution American War Of Independence]] with the sigh: "My only regret is having only one life to give for my country."
