Tony Pateto (Bulgarian: Тони Патето) is a webcomic by artist Anani Borisov about the comedic life the eponymous Anton "Tony" Pateto ("The Duckling"), a resident of the fictional Bulgarian village Igrivo (literally "Playful"), a young man and his delinquent friends.
This webcomic contains the following tropes:
- Bland-Name Product: Tony's girlfriend works at a supermarket named ''SILLA''
. note The employees are all burly, brutish guys who are revealed to be part of a money-laundering crime ring. - Butt-Monkey: Tony often ends up tripping over something, getting ripped off, slapped, or just screwed over. His best friend, Milko, is even more of the same.
- Casanova Wannabe: Tony fancies himself a "player". He's usually unsuccessful, Johnny Bravo style.
- Catchphrase: Игра [igra] (game). Tony often says that "what matters is to play the game". The names of Iva Igriva as well as the village Igrivo both mean "playful".
- Also Tony's wisdom in the form of "This isn't X, Milko. This is Y."
- Henpecked Husband: Milko routinely gets ordered around by his girlfriend. Tony illustrates that by holding a slipper above his head. 'note
- Hopeless Suitor: Tony spends a lot of time hitting on Iva Igriva through Facebook. She only gives him "seen"s or an April Fools prank confession at most.
- Hunk: Even if the comic is drawn in the style of a World of Muscle Men: Tony is hulking above the rest.
- Lantern Jaw of Justice: Tony's jaw takes up half his skull.
- Mock Millionaire: Tony likes to pretend he's a big-shot, but he's really always broke.
- Really Gets Around: The girl known as Dessy the Kitten.Tony: (after hooking up with Dessy) That's it, Dessy's mine.Milko: She ain't yours, Tony. It's just your turn.
- Shared Universe: With Just Spas. The eponymous characters from both comics can cross over, drawn into the other comic's style. Tony's usually the butt of Spas' jokes.
