Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Strong Hearts is a fan-made comic made by xfangheartx
, and it based off the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers series.
The story follows a boy named Tory, who wakes up in the Pokemon world in the form of a Rockruff, all alone in the middle of a forest, where he is soon pursued by a pack of Mightyena, led by a shiny one named Thor. Thankfully, he is saved by an Arcanine named Trent who lives in the forest that Tory woke up in. Not understanding why Tory was turned into a Pokemon and brought to this world, Trent takes him to Windfall Village to keep him safe from Thor and his pack and hopefully find the answers he seeks...while trying to face his past, as well. However, it may not be easy, for a cunning Delphox witch named Selena seeks to capture Tory in order to destroy the Pokemon world.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Strong Heart provides examples of:
- The Atoner: Trent serves as this due to some unfortunate accident that happened a year prior to the story.
- Big Brother Instinct: Trent is very protective of Tory, who is like a brother figure to him.
- Big Bad: Selena the witch, who is trying to capture Tory in order to use him as some sort of plan to destroy the world. Why she wants to do so or how Tory plays into this is unknown, although she seems to harbor some kind of pain or grief that might play into her motives.
- Kid Hero: Tory and his friends are under the age of ten each, with Tory being only eight. And yet they are the main characters. Although Tory is shown not to be the best at fighting.
- Monstrous Cannibalism: Thor and his fellow mightyena are sapient and yet the mightyena were about to eat Tory before Thor stops them, reminding them that Selena wants Tory alive. What is worth noting is that they each are canine Pokemon, however pokemon and their food chain likely work differently than it does in real life.
