Clueless Hero is a Gag-per-Day Gaming Webcomic created by Luis Lee and Ana Gaby Perez, primarily focused on its titular, fictional video game and all the "real world" people that participate on its existence as a franchise, like developers, executives and fans.
Clueless Hero is more interested on being relatably humorous about the various aspects of video game culture than mocking of them (not that it shies away from the occasional capitalism/industry joke). Indeed, around half of the strips are about the lives of random people and how they employ gaming (usually the Clueless Hero game itself) as a way to cope with the usual stresses of day-to-day activity, for better or worse. As for the other half, they follow the random escapades of an often clueless, but heroic Silent Protagonist wizard(?) kid(???) and his supporting cast of fellow heroes, NPCs and villains, all while spoofing several RPG tropes, particularly those from The Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy. Overall, it's a very casual, lighthearted affair that is obviously having fun with itself, which is where its charm lies.
This webcomic provides examples of:
- Card-Carrying Villain: Clueless Hero's Big Bad is outward about his nature as an evildoer.
- Nameless Narrative: None of Clueless Hero's player characters or even the villains are actually given names, not even the protagonist.
- Pointy-Haired Boss: The recurring executive of the Clueless Hero franchise, who is depicted as greedy and out-of-touch.
- Silent Protagonist: The titular clueless hero.
- Welcome to Corneria: Parodied with a recurring seaman NPC, who apparently is only capable of saying one single line ("Be careful on your journey, there are monsters lurking in the sea.") and is unable to leave this one designated spot. It's obviously a suffering existence for him.
