Brotherhood's Twist is a webcomic that began in 2015 and finished 2023.

While investigating the reappearance of the Lost Hex, Sonic and Tails come across an Item Box, which Sonic busts open. After a flash of light, the two wake and find they’ve swapped ages! With no immediate way back to normal, the two brothers must contend with the Deadly Six and stop their dastardly plan.

It can be read here

This comic contains examples of:

  • Armor-Piercing Response: When Sonic runs off, intending to beat the Deadly Six by himself, Tails yells at him to please listen to him this time. This gets Sonic to realize how reckless he’s been and apologize.
  • Big Bad: Zavok, and, by extension, The Deadly Six.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Tails twice. First, he shows up just in time to save Sonic from being eaten by Zomom, and in the climax, he arrives in super form to save Sonic from being crushed by Zavok.
  • Briar Patching: When Zor declares he’s going to delete Tails’ game files from the Miles Electric, Tails plays along and begs him to not hit a certain button, making him electrocute himself.
  • The Cameo: Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Vanilla, Professor Pickle, Wave, and Rouge all briefly appear in Tails’ Imagine Spot.
  • Combination Attack: In their first confrontation, the Deadly Six (minus Zor) launch a Combined Energy Attack. Sonic and Tails counter with the Rolling Combo before tactically retreating.
  • Continuity Nod: Several references are made to from Lost World.
  • Evil Is Petty: Zor steals Tails’ Miles Electric and asks if there are any games on it. Not so he can play, mind you, but so he can delete his save files.
  • Hope Spot: Two in close succession. The first is when Sonic and Tails find that the newly-repaired Item Box is gone, having been taken by Eggman. The second is when the duo bring down his Eggmobile. They celebrate their victory until the vehicle explodes on impact, taking the Item Box with it.
  • Imagine Spot: While trying to fix the Item Box, Tails stops to imagine how his friends would react to his and Sonic’s age swap.
  • I Resemble That Remark!: When Tails teases Sonic about being the younger brother now, Sonic throws a tantrum and yells to not be treated like a baby.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Sonic is in over his head when he tries fighting the Deadly Six as a kid, prompting Eggman to grab him and run, pointing out how he of all people knows when there’s no chance of winning.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sonic recklessly breaking the Item Box causes him and Tails to swap ages.
  • One-Winged Angel: After getting fed up fighting Sonic, Zavok grows huge and nearly crushes him.
  • Physical Attribute Swap: Sonic and Tails switch ages thanks to a special Item Box.
  • Save the Villain: While exploring the area, Sonic spots Eggman about to be killed by Zavok. He saves him without hesitation.
  • She's All Grown Up: A male example. Upon becoming a teenager, Tails’ ears gain some brown trim, and he grows a bit of proper hair on the back of his head.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Eggman doesn’t directly do much here, but his Item Box is what causes Sonic and Tails to swap ages. He’s also mostly responsible for the Hope Spot above. Same with Omochao, who only appears briefly, but he helps Tails access his super form and gives the duo another Item Box.
  • Unwilling Roboticization: The Deadly Six plan to do this to the whole planet.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Once their plans have been foiled, the Deadly Six are forced to retreat so they don’t get stranded when the Lost Hex disappears.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: Averted. While Zazz and Zomom debate on whether to end Sonic quickly, Zavok buts in and orders Zomom to eat Sonic then and there. Fortunately, Sonic is saved by Tails showing up.
