Tropes used in this fan-made video

  • Assurance Backfire: King becomes horrified that everyone who drank the potion may never wake up. Hooty consoles him by telling him that they can hang out forever... and ever... and ever... and ever... This idea horrifies King enough such that he tries even harder to wake up the gang.
  • Brick Joke:
    • When Eda tells Luz to take a nap during the boring classes, she says that's not gonna happen. But when we see Luz in class, she's sleeping on the desk.
    • Willow asks Eda if dream walking is illegal, which the Owl Lady shrugs off. Later when Eda realizes that King accidentally dropped Grom goo into the potion, Willow concludes that dream walking is definitely not legal.
    • After drinking the potion, Luz states that it tastes like blueberries. Later when Eda tells her what caused the nightmare, Luz realizes that explains the blueberry taste.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: During her pep talk, Eda points out that if she had talked to Luz about her dreams, they wouldn't be trapped in a nightmare.
  • Discretion Shot: Judging from Eda and the kids reactions, whatever Gus drew on the chalkboard, it isn't appropriate.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Eda tells Luz's friends about how she brew the dream walking potion, and when she gets to the part where King showed up, she realizes how the dream is turning into a nightmare.
  • Face Doodling: While Eda and the kids are asleep, King takes the opportunity to draw on Eda and Luz's faces.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Once Luz's friends realize that they drank Grom goo, they are disgusted.
  • Midquel: Set between "Wing It Like Witches" and "Agony of a Witch".
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Eda knows that something's wrong with Luz because she's usually up before her.
  • Shout-Out: The trash can King hides in looks very similar to a crew member.
  • Sleepy Head: Luz became this as a result of her recurring nightmares.
