Mischief Movie Night In was a run of Mischief Theatre's improv show Mischief Movie Night which was streamed between December 27th 2020 and August 1st 2021 in lieu of doing live theatre during the covid-19 lockdown.
The show is hosted by Oscar or Emmynote , a cinephile whose movie collection includes every film that has ever been made and also every film you could possibly imagine, one of which they will show based on what the audience requests. They pause, rewind, and critique the team of improvisers throughout the next hour, during which they put together an entire movie from scratch (including all music and special effects).
This series provides examples of:
- Cutaway Gag: Constant. Several times an episode Oscar will pause the film after something absurd has been mentioned, say that it was featured in the director’s cut of the film, and play that. Often used as a way to bully the actors for something ridiculous they’ve said. This is so consistent that you can occasionally see the actors say weird things about one another’s characters purposefully in order to throw each other under the bus by inducing these cuts (Niall saying Beard was a tap dancer in Escape A Lot, for instance).

Keep Circulating the Tapes: Mischief Movie Night In was livestreamed and has not been released in any way by Mischief, meaning there has been no legitimate way to watch it since it aired. The only way people get to see it is by circulating screen-recorded copies of the broadcasts.
