Asrika Films are a group of Indonesian voice actors and video creators, who make Javanese Gag Dub (with Indonesian subtitles) videos of popular medias, starting from a Gag Dub of The Dark Knight (titled "The Darn Knight" and about chicken thievery) uploaded in 2009. They have made many Gag Dubs ever since, although the frequency is decreasing as time goes by. Their Gag Dubs usually have an original plot that Indonesians can relate to, sometimes naughty ones, with some videos sharing some setting elements such as the Mie Ayamnote Silir shop. The videos can be found on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram (although not all are uploaded on their channel, unofficial uploads exist).
Their videos contain examples of:
- Adaptation Name Change: Many foreign names are often renamed to local ones.
- In the "The Darn Knight" videos, Commissioner Gordeon is named Bondan while Sal Maroni is named Udin.
- Harry Potter is renamed to Hariel Potter and the credits of "Hariel Potter and National Exam"note reveals that everyone get a new name.
- Big "WHAT?!": In "Tragedy in Mie Ayam Shop"note , Squidward shouts "WHAT, Miyabi?!"note upon reading Mr. Krabs' announcement that she will be coming.
- Bland-Name Product: In the first "Hariel Potter" video, a woman testifies to uploading Hariel's kerokan video to AsriTube, rather than YouTube.
- Hypocrite: Squidward vehemently protests Mr. Krabs' plan to bring Miyabi to the village out of moral reason, in spite of saying that she is his favorite "sexy" messager. When Squidward publicizes his protest, Naruto points out that he watches porn everyday, which Squidward can only respond with "shut up, durian head!"
- Ripped from the Headlines: They have made videos based on current events in Indonesia, such as a Miyabi-themed SpongeBob video based on the controversy of inviting the porn star to Indonesia in 2019 and a Gag Dub of the viral Arya Wiguna rant video.
- Saying Too Much: In "The Darn Knight 2", Udin blabs out that he thought Batman is trying to apprehend him for stealing Darmi's chickens, when Batman only wants to borrow some money, making Bat realize who stole the chickens.
- Time Skip: The third act of "Tragedi in Mie Ayam Shop" uses clips from "Krusty Towers" and takes place three weeks after the part adapted from "Squid on Strike". In the video's context, the time skip fills the time needed for Mr. Krabs to renovate his mie ayam shop.
- Toilet Humor: "The Darn Knight 2" has several lines where the joke is simply that a character really want to take a dump right now.
- Visual Pun: While "asu" (literally dog) is often used as an expletive, "The Darn Knight 10 Anniversay Edition" has actual dogs saying it instead of barking.
