With only one day until his egg hatches, Rodan does some research across Monster Island to prepare himself for fatherhood.
“Rodan’s Egg” is the fourth entry of the “Tales from Monster Island!” Web Animation series made by YouTube animator Quazies and based on the Godzilla franchise. It revolves around Rodan and his anxiety over his egg that is bound to hatch anytime soon as well as his attempts to prepare for parenthood.Like the previous three entries of “Tales from Monster Island!”, this short once again features no spoken dialogue, instead telling the story largely through narration in the captions to correspond with the characters' actions.

Rodan’s Egg contains examples of:
- Ambiguous Gender: The intermission gives Hedorah both masculine and feminine pronouns.
- Annoying Younger Sibling: Battra (who is still a larva) shows this type of bratty and aggressive behavior compared to his older, more mature sister Mothra.
- Call-Back: Spacegodzilla is seen waking up surrounded by beer cans and with a note reading "Call me!!!" draped over his arm. This implies that his attempt to flirt with Titanosaurus in Gigan's Big Score was successful.
- Death of a Child: Rodan had another egg sometime prior to the short which sadly never made it. He even planted flowers around its eggshell to respect its memory.
- Disney Death: Rodan thought he had lost another baby after its egg fell off his nest with Manda and nearly cries before covering his face. Thankfully, the newly hatched baby made it out unharmed.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: After losing his first egg and going through hell before his second one hatched, Rodan gets to finally be a parent and raise his new baby.
- Freeze-Frame Introduction: Rodan is given this alongside his motto: “Be the best guy in the room!” Said motto also serves as a double meaning.
- Furry Reminder: Rodan clicks his beak when he's excited, as several species of birds do.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Gorosaurus is claimed to think he’s full of wisdom and can give great advice during the intermission. His roommate Anguirus claims otherwise.
- Manly Tears: Rodan cries in relief upon realizing his egg had hatched and survived the fall from his nest.
- Mythology Gag:
- Mothra's house has an old newspaper article referencing the events of Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster with herself as the larva.
- Rodan’s parents are also based on the original Rodan couple as well, implying this Rodan is the one that appeared from Ghidorah onwards.
- Outliving One's Offspring: Rodan had another child prior to his current egg which died and only has its eggshell as memory. It’s also one of the burdens that Rodan carries. Thankfully, it’s a subverted case for his second one even after Manda tired attacking it.
- Papa Wolf: Manda suffers the wrath of both Godzilla and Rodan for trying to harm their children.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: While Godzilla remains the king of monsters, the true leader of Monster Island is Mothra, who brokered a peace deal between humans and kaijus after defeating Gidorah and nowadays helps kaijus in need when she's not teaching the young of the island.
- Spoiled Brat: Rodan witnesses a young Kamacuras throw a tantrum over an ice cream its mother just bought much to her chagrin.
- Stars Are Souls: After falling asleep with his newly hatched in the night, constellations resembling Rodan’s parents and first child watch over them peacefully.
- Would Hurt a Child: Manda tries twice to eat kaiju children, Godzilla Jr. and then Rodan’s egg. Both times though, he was unsuccessful.
