and Talon over on the "Checkpoint!" YouTube channel.
Tropes:
- As You Know: Nightwalker Ned reads aloud from a clipboard explaining which episodes of Season 2 were reruns and which ones were filmed by the robots... something Dale already knew.
- Breaking the Fellowship:
- Played with: After Mike and Dale get separated in "gm_fork - Episode 1.5", Dale takes over the video to try and sell the map himself... only for him to bump into Mike (who was still doing the video on his end).
- At some point between Seasons 1 and 2, Dale went solo, doing "Motormouth Dale". But then it turns out that this Dale was actually a robot in disguise as part of a long con against Nightwalker Ned.
- Big Bad: Nightwalker Ned is established as this in the Season 1 finale.
- Motor Mike and Motor Dale take over this role in Season 2.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Mike wears a blue jumpsuit, whereas Motor Mike (in his Mike costume) wears a brown suit.
- Crack is Cheaper: In-Universe, Mike and Dale (or at least the robot duplicates) deliberately jack up the price on maps so that no one can buy them. That way, they get to keep them.
- Exact Words: "Sorry, Mike. But it's two against one."
- Eye Scream: The "eye popping textures" of "gm_7eleven_v6" literally cause Mike's eyes to pop out of his skull (luckily, we don't actually see it, and he pops them right back in).
- Foreshadowing:
- "gm_7eleven_v6 - Episode 1.9" sees the first mention of Nightwalker Ned.
- For whatever reason, "rp_cscdesert_v2-1 - Episode 2.2", "gm_blackbrook_asylum - Episode 2.4", "dm_bridge - Episode 2.7" have their comment acknowledgements edited in in post.
- Halfway Plot Switch: "dm_bridge - Episode 2.7" stops being a video on the map in question the second Mike gets sideswiped by a car and passes out. The rest of the video is an exploration into Mike's subconscious (represented by the map "yeayuhhh").
- In-Universe Factoid Failure: According to Mike, Thomas Jefferson invented electricity.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Dale points out to Nightwalker Ned in "gm_mobenix_v3 - Episode 2.8" that he had plenty of time to work out that Dale was setting him up.
- Looping Lines: In-Universe, Motor Mike and Motor Dale, when rerunning older episodes, splice in their own dialogue to thank the newer commentators.
- Mind Screw:
- "gm_mobenix_v3 - Episode 2.8" reveals that Dale was actually working with Mike the entire time this season, in order to lure Nightwalker Ned to him, that Mike intentionally jacks up the prices on maps so that he and Dale can keep them for themselves... and that Mike and Dale are actually robots planning total server domination.
- "rp_amsterville - Episode 2.9" ups the ante by revealing that the robot Mike and Dale are not actually the real Mike and Dale; the robots took them captive and threw them in jail.
- Hostile Show Takeover:
- Parodied: "gm_fork - Episode 1.5" sees Dale briefly take over after he and Mike get separated, only to lose control when he bumps back into Mike a short while later.
- Refuge in Audacity: The entire gist of the series is Mike (and Dale) selling GMod maps... maps that you can get for free.
- The Reveal: As it happens, Mike met Dale in "rp_amsterville", when he was conducting interviews for a cameraman (feeling that having one would lift up his spirits). It also reveals Dale's last name: Docernicus.
- Self-Deprecation:
- In "gm_blackbrook_asylum - Episode 2.4", Nightwalker Ned flat out says the show had been getting worse over the course of Season 2, calling out Mike for becoming more aggressive and violent.
- Shout-Out:
- When attempting to enter the Fisherman's Diner in "rp_amsterville - Episode 2.9", Mike is stopped by a bouncer, inquiring about how tough he is.
- Wham Line: Nightwalker Ned calls into question one specific detail that has been lingering over Season 2 in "gm_blackbrook_asylum - Episode 2.4":Movie Vendor: If you were a true "Motormouth Mike" fan, you would understand that.Nightwalker Ned: True "Motormouth Mike" fan, huh? Then I got one question for you. Where's Dale?
- This is when "gm_mobenix_v3 - Episode 2.8" takes a turn:Nightwalker Ned: (chuckles) Sorry, Mike. But it's two against one.Dale: That's right, Ned. Two. Against. One.

- Whole Episode Flashback: As it turns out, almost half of Season 2note is just reruns of older "Motormouth Mike" episodes from before Mike met Dale.
- The same applies to "rp_amsterville - Episode 2.9", as Dale plays the tape before he and Nightwalker Ned go to find Mike, stating it was his favorite.
