The series contains the following tropes:

  • An Arm and a Leg: The Megaraptor’s right arm is torn off by the Rubeosaurus, and before killing it, the Siamosaurus tears off the Megaraptor’s remaining arm.
  • Death by Irony: One of the Rubeosaurus gets killed after the Megaraptor impales it with its partner's horn.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • When the Mosasaurus leaps from the water to attack the Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus, the two predators stopped their fight to knock the sea creature back.
    • The T-Rex team up with the Spinosaurus to defeat the Indominus Rex.
  • Gentle Giant Sauropod: Averted by the featured sauropods (Brachiosaurus, Alamosaurus, Sauroposeidon, Isanosaurus, Dicraeosaurus, Phuwiangosaurus, Apatosaurus, Amargasaurus, and Shunosaurus) are shown as dangerous fighters.
  • Hoist by Their Own Petard: The Mosasaurus sends the Spinosaurs flying towards some giant stalactites but the Spino manages to break some and they all drop onto the Mosa with the biggest one impaling them to death.
  • Horn Attack:
    • The Ceratopsians utilize their horns in combat.
    • The Lambeosaurus uses its crest very effectively against the Isanosaurus.
  • Impossibly Graceful Giant
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: Sarcosuchus is one of the non-dinosaur reptiles featured.
  • Noble Demon: The T-Rex spares the last two surviving Gastonia after they agreed to forfeit the match and let the former win.
  • Pet the Dog: The Pentaceratops saves the Styracosaurus from falling into the chasm.
  • Prehensile Tail: All Ankylosauria use their tails as clubs while the Sauropods use theirs to actually lift their opponents up and even throw them.
  • Rolling Attack: Ankylosauria are able to curl themselves, turning them into living, armored wheels.
  • Sea Monster: The Mosasaurus acts as one of the hazards in a level. It finally gets a chance to take part in a battle, fighting the Spinosaurus.
  • Spinosaurus Versus T. rex: Season 1 ends with a battle between these two titanic predators. After a long and brutal fight, the T-Rex came out on top.
  • Step into the Blinding Fight: The Parasaurolophus spins their tail around to generate a cloud of dust to confuse the Anchiceratops long enough for them to drive a wooden stake into their opponent.
  • Swallowed Whole: The Titanoboa devours the Sarcosuchus after killing their opponent.
  • Temper-Ceratops: All of the featured Ceratopsians (Triceratops, Torosaurus, Medusaceratops, Anchiceratops, Pentaceratops, Styracosaurus, Rubeosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Bravoceratops, Titanoceratops, and Diceratops'') are powerful fighters not afraid to use their sharp horns.
