WMG / Ultima VIII

The Lost Vale takes place before Ultima IX

Though cancelled, the events of The Lost Vale are still canon. The Avatar enters the mysterious double doors and continues the Super Mario Bros. theme by taking a ride to cloud world, encountering the Zealans and doing various quests as the Titan of Ether before losing all his powers due to pissing off every last citizen of Pagan. This leads to The Avatar not going straight to Britannia as he had witnessed in his vision, but to Earth, to atone for his misdeeds by being the only man alive to play Ultima Online 2 before a giant Texas spider would slowly creep along in his own backyard in an attempt to do him in. Avid Ultima gamer that he is, trying to get Ultima Online 2 set up on his computer took the equivalent of twenty Britannian years, the equivalent of one tenth of two hundred Britannian years, just enough time for the Guardian to reshape Britannia in his image, although not exactly like the image in the ending of Ultima VIII.
