In the second trailer it is revealed that the crystal in which Velvet and Veneer hold Floyd (one of Branch's brothers) captive is actually a diamond perfume bottle
and below it has a perfume pump hanging from the bottle. Their real singing voice is awful, but because they want to be famous they are draining Floyd's musical abilities to their scent to have their own talents, which would explain why we see them giving a concert at one point.
BroZone was once a famous boy band due Poppy knows them even though they must have disbanded when she was a baby, so Velvet and Veneer will try to capture them all to be as famous as they were.
- Another alternative is that a long time ago, Velvet and Veneer were a musical duo who wanted to be famous but they failed and were completely overshadowed by Brozone and now they want revenge since they believed that it was BroZone's fault their music career didn’t take off.

Honestly, I’m thinking that she might even be the true villain behind the entire plan and Velvet and Veener’s boss as the lead singer of their group, mainly cause I can’t help but notice that all of their names start with a V (like the band name is Triple V or something) Plus, there was concept art found that showed a beta Viva that had yellow skin instead of pink, but also another one in a much more flashy and dangerous outfit and hairstyle that could be the form she takes on in the final act when she uses the power of all the voices to boost herself up and defeat the heroes and her sister. Idk, since it was stated that the movie would explore how family could still be capable of hurting one another, I think it would be interesting to have Poppy’s whole “having someone as your family means that they’re automatically you bestie friend forever” mentality slapped back in her face by her sister betraying her like this and it’d be a good lesson in how, just because someone is you’re family that doesn’t mean that they will always have your best interests at heart or even be a good person.

Considering that the synopsis says that Branch and the other brothers will have to rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity and that music is the main element that the Trolls live by, the concept of Floyd hair being turning white when his musical talent gets drained it will show that Floyd’s biological clock is ticking and how much time he has left.

As for why Peppy didn't tell Poppy that she had a sister? It was because he thought that they died at the hands of Chef and didn't want to make Poppy go through the same thing that he did.
- Mostly confirmed as they did get separated during the Last Trollstice but the Putt-Putt Trolls are all revealed to be Pop Trolls who were separated from the main tribe. Still no mention of Poppy and Viva's mother.
However despite that, Veneer has some hesitation on wanting to sing due to being concern for Floyd and only doing it to make his sister happy besides the singing and fame.
This could mean that Veneer has a chance to redeem himself and apologize to the citizens for lying to them.
- Confirmed as Veneer reveals their deception to the citizens of Mount Rageous and denounces his sister for it. Despite this, he is still arrested averting Easily Forgiven as he still willingly committed those crimes.
