The nine-tailed fox spirit is the real villain of the game

Think about it. Nine-tailed foxes are nominally evil in East Asian folklore. They're also often portrayed as evil spirits in Anime and Manga. There's no way Falcom is going to rebel against this. If there will be future sequels, it would be eventually revealed that the nine-tailed fox god is behind all this, For the Evulz.
