In The Warrior's good ending, T sends him a message. It could mean that T or the Ministry got involved, but maybe all this time The Warrior has been getting messages from beyond the grave.
- T gets messages from himself, who's dead, so it's not that much of a stretch.
- Alternately, the ally and the enemy are impersonating the Boss to manipulate the Warrior.
If making a pentagram was all it took to reduce the downside of casting spells, every cultist and member of the Ministry would have worn one. It's likely that the pentagram item the player can equip was fashioned from a magic artifact, and the symbol itself has no influence.
- They might as well all have them. Keep in mind The Ministry Man didn't really have time and opportunity to prepare himself properly.
- Alternatively it may not be the material it's made of but rather a special process/ceremony is required to infuse its power into it. As for the symbol itself, it may simply hold a special property that allows it to possess this power.
The invader's enemy is also a deity, presumably of great power despite its lack of interest in living in our world, and when a human who actively opposed the invader dies or succeeds, the 'helpful' god converts their accomplishments into a magical star. The invader's opponent might be aware of the existence of other universes, and though it has a strange sense of morality, ultimately believes invading the human world is wrong and wants to help give humans in other realms a better chance.
They're both Ancients, beings with incredible power. One tries to prevent the invader from getting into our world, the other one tries to help it. So it's not too far-fetched to think that both of them try to influence what's happening in the game. If the player finds a lot of clues and has lots of positive random encounters, that's the invader's enemy gaining the upper hand. If the clues come slowly and the random encounters are all negative, it's the invader's ally being victorious.
- The Scholar would be The Hero.
- The Ministry Man would be The Lancer to Scholar, as his gameplay style is similar too the Scholar, but with the caveat he has more resources. He also has more experience in fighting the monster compared to the Scholar.
- The Warrior is The Big Guy, for his large stature and his melee abilities.
- The Wizard is The Smart Guy, for her intelligence and her ability to use magic without sanity lost.
- If there needs to be someone who is The Heart, it would be the Scholar. His research and perseverance in saving the world is what helps the others in taking up his task when he dies in the game. He also the main character who has the most personal reason to save the world: to ensure his family has a future. While the others do seek to save the world with good intentions, their reasons are not quite as personal, the Ministry Man is saving the world partly because its his job to do so, the Warrior fights partly out of seeking redemption for his criminal work, and the Wizard saves the world because it is the rational thing to do, and because she doesn't want some random cosmic being mess with the physics of the universe.
