WMG / SD Gundam World Sangoku Soketsuden

Go To

In a Meta-Twist, Zhang Jue Devil Gundam will be voiced by Yūki Kaji, who originally voiced Ryubi Gundam in SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors.
Bonus points if he delivers a Breaking Speech to Liu Bei sometime in the story.
  • Jossed. In the credits of episode 4, where Zhang Jue had a speaking role, he is revealed to be voiced by Yuji Ueda.

And instead of 00 Qan(T) he'll be the Gundam 00 Diver.
  • Alternatively, he could return as either Reborns Gundam or 00 Gundam Seven Sword.
  • Jossed. Zhou Yun does return, but not in an upgraded form.

Future characters and which Gundams they will be based on

Lu Lingqi, daughter of Lu Bu, will appear in the story to Set Right What Once Went Wrong
She will travel from the future in order to stop the Yellow Zombie Virus from ruining her world, like Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening going to the past to prevent Grima from turning her world into a Risen-infested mess. She will also be based off of the Woundwort from Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans

Liu Bei Unicorn Gundam's mother will appear in the Anime proper
She will seemingly have survived her death at the beginning of Enkotan. However, the Yellow Zombie Virus will already have fully consumed her mind, and Liu Bei would have no choice but to Mercy Kill her. This could go one of two ways;
  • She will have a more monstrous-looking form and by the final boss fought at the end of the show. Her design will look similar to Hegemon Husk Edelgard from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
  • In reference to how the Devil Gundam in the original show needed a female in order to gain power, Liu Bei's mother will be Zhang Jue Devil Gundam's power battery, just like how Rain Mikamura was for Devil Gundam.

    • Jossed. Not only is Zhang Jue himself being used as a vessel to produce the virus, but it was destroyed after he requested that Zhuge Liang set fire to him in order to destroy it.

He has hypnotism powers and uses them on Cao Cao Wing Gundam to get him to back down on the Trinity issue, so he could be taking on the role of adviser for Dong Zhuo to use him for his own ends. Plus, it'd make sense considering Sima Yi's typical portrayal.

Guessing the show's length
  • Sangoku Soketsuden has a schedule of releasing a new episode every "fourth Friday of the month". Going by that math, if they were to do 52 episodes, that'd mean it would have to go on for 4 years and 4 months. However, that sounds ridiculously long just for a new episode every month and, considering this show was made as part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration for Gundam, lasting for that long would make people feel like it's overstaying its welcome. I think that at the most, we might get a total of 26 episodes, which would mean 2 years and 2 months.
  • Jossed. The series is confirmed to be 10 episodes long.

Both Xiahou Yuan Tallgeese and Xiahou Dun Tallgeese III will upgrade at some point later in the story
Whether because of a major incident or just the need to get stronger, they will both receive a major upgrade of sorts later on in the story. Xiahou Yuan Tallgeese will become Xiahou Yuan Tallgeese II, while Xiahou Dun Tallgeese III will become Xiahou Dun Tallgeese Flugel.

For a surprise, there will be a Li Xin Kingdom Gundam later in the story
Weekly Young Jump magazine's 51st issue brought a couple of Mangaka to draw special illustrations for Gundam's 40th anniversary. One of these Mangaka is Yasuhisa Hara, the man responsible for Kingdom, which stared the Qin Dynasty General of the "Warring States" period Li Xin. Futhermore, his design will get a Gunpla, the "Kingdom Gundam YJ Tokusei Model Ver.", as a special gift alongside the issue courtesy of BANDAI SPIRITS. With this in mind, they could pay tribute to this new figure by basing a new character off of it, maybe even Li Xin for the sake of association. While it wouldn't make sense to have a character based off of someone from the "Warring States" period (475-221 BCE) in a work based off of the "Three Kingdoms" period (188-280 AD), they could A) introduce him as someone from a Yellow Zombie Virus-infested future who went to the past to Set Right What Once Went Wrong, or B) go the Anachronism Stew route and incorporate elements from multiple eras of Ancient China's history into Sangoku Soketsuden, not just the "Three Kingdoms" period.
  • Jossed.

The Yellow Virus was created by the Byron aliens
Bugs and Portanovas have an oddly similar techno-veiny eyeball design for their eyepieces...

  • Jossed. The Yellow Zombie Virus was created by Zhang Jue by accident while researching a solution to the Trinity shortage.
