WMG / River City Girls 2

Go To

Despite the name, the games aren't sequels to River City Girls Zero
They're remakes. Nobody has ever talked about the time Sabu shot Misako and Kyoko, since in this continuity, it never happened.
  • The game may refer to it in a meta sense; in an elaboration of why the secret ending in part one changed Kyoko and Misako from being Stalker with a Crush to being in legitimate relationships.

Ken and sabuko will perform a heel-face turn
  • In river city girl zero Ken was shot by Sabu for failing him and ken wishing that Kunio was really his brother and Sabu is not above demeaning his daughter Sabuko. In the end of the game they perform an enemy mine with the protagonist
    • Downplayed Jossed for Sabuko.

The Secret Boss will be...
  • Hasebe and Mami again, accompanied by Mihoko and Madoka. Two girls for the two player game, four girls for the four player game. Mihoko is Hiroshi's crush, and was established in RGC1 as a "friend" that Misako and Kyoko don't actually like. She's also a super kawaii girly girl with a huge hair bow and a tiny dog, which fits into the general antagonistic popular girls, vaguely well intentioned delinquents dynamic that the previous boss fit in. Madoka was introduced in the Arc System Works continuity as Kunio's, and by extension Misako's, homeroom teacher. Her gimmick was that Kunio would constantly embarrass her with flirting, which makes her a contender in the "Who is Kunio's real girlfriend?" battle royale as well as someone with a personal motive to finally discipline these delinquents.
  • Hiroshi. His desire to be cool and strong like Kunio has been a throughline across all the series, and now that Kunio's playable again AND the guy who kickstarted the entire franchise by kidnapping him is back in play, now would be the perfect time for him to show off just how much progress he's made.
  • Lee, Sabu's blood brother and the only member of the Sabu family not accounted for. Well, him and...
  • Akio. Probably the deepest cut WayForward could put here, Akio is a character who has never appeared in any work, having only been mentioned by Yoshihisa Kishimoto as the identity of Riki's unseen impostor from River City Girls Zero. If he is Riki's Evil Counterpart, then he could be a terrifyingly efficient No-Nonsense Nemesis to contrast Ken's spoiled rich kid routine... or, more likely, be a Comically Serious figure who will not be able to match our heroes' chaotic energy.
  • Skullmageddon. We know he exists in this continuity and that Sean Velasco is willing to voice him.
  • Godai. The girls (and Kunio and Riki) find out the truth of how is all Godai manipulating Misako and Kyoko into thinking their boyfriends were kidnapped in the first game so they'd do his dirty work. Enraged at his trickery, the characters will fight him a boss battle that finally gives the creep his overdue karma by brutally beating him senseless.

Godai has something to do with the plot of river city girl 2
When you think about, Godai sends a picture of the boys 'kidnapping' to the girls which sets of a chain of events which leads to the girls storming the yakuza base of operations, defeating Sabuko. After Sabuko lost, she is picked up by Ken to visit their father,Sabu who has be (very quickly)informed of her defeat, which leads to Sabu breaking out of jail to deal with the girls.

Given Godai's Manipulative Bastard tendency and the fact he keeps tabs of everyone, he might be working with Sabu as his informant.

Godai will get his Laser-Guided Karma for this actions in the first game
Something that does need to happen. The girls find out that it was Godai who tricked them into thinking Kunio and Riki were kidnapped with the fake photo just to do things for him. Once they find out, they're be furious and will beat badly him in a boss battle as punishment for all his deception!
