• The Other Darrin:
  • In the previous game, Noize was voiced by Erika Harlacher. Although Harlacher voices Marian in this sequel, Noize is instead voiced by Anairis Quiñones.
  • Hiroshi is now voiced by Kylen Deporter, instead of Kyle McCarley.
• Role Reprise: Joji Nakata and Rei Matsuzaki reprise their roles as Sol Badguy and Jam Kuradoberi from Guilty Gear, with David Forseth reprising Sol in the English voiceover (at the time of this game's launch, Jam hasn't been ever dubbed in English).
• Short Run in Peru: Despite being developed by WayForward in America, the game was released in Japan and Asia on December 1, 2022, before being released elsewhere at a later date.
• What Could Have Been: A horror-themed follow-up to the first game called River City Nightmares was originally conceived by the developers; it would have Yamada, one of the game's bosses, open up a portal and summoned a lot of monsters and youkai to terrorize River City (with Yamada himself being the Big Bad of that game). Nightmares is scrapped in favor of a proper follow-up, with the youkai enemy group and a haunted area that you can visit being remnants of that original plan.
