What the remaining Confidants and their Arcana might be
Now that the fic has been canceled, I'll give my guesses as to which people might be which arcana. Since the fic uses characters from the game, expect to see a lot of familiar names.
- The Hierophant: Sojiro. He probably won't be the same father figure to Makoto that he was to Ren, but he's an important part of the group. He could probably make a deal of sorts with Makoto- she talk with him about his problems and he helps her make coffee and curry.
- The Chariot: Ryuji. Since he was set to eventually join the group, it makes sense that he'd become a Phantom Thief.
- The Hermit: Futaba. Since the fic ended with Futaba's arc, it only makes sense that she'd become the next member of the Phantom Thieves, as well as a Confidant.
- Strength: Shinya. I'm less certain about this, but the balance between passion and self-control can be shown through his desire to become stronger, and Makoto guiding him by helping him become stronger without also being a bully. The fact that Makoto could see a bit of herself in his desire to save his mother helps.
- The Wheel Of Fortune: Eiko. As unpopular as she is, she makes a good Foil to Makoto, whose "chance" encounter with Tsukasa forces her to rethink her life.
- The Star: Hifumi. Makoto meets Hifumi by chance during the outing to the bookstore over the summer, and the two hit it off fairly well as fellow strategists. It also helps that in the game, Makoto is one of those who responds most strongly to Mitsuyo's mistreatment of Hifumi.
