The gameplay is a Fusion of SMT's press turn system and Persona's Social Sim mechanics

The director, Katusra Hashino, is both the creator of the press-turn system and the director of Persona 3-5. The June 2023 Xbox trailer seems to show both press turn icons and a sort of Social-link-like system. This may be an attempt to bridge the SMT and Persona fandoms by combining Persona's non-combat elements with more traditional SMT combat.

The one who cast the curse on the King is also a member of the Elda tribe.

The "dangerous and heretical powers" refer to the ability to cast curses, like the one that saps away lifespan.

The game will deconstruct the concept of Always Chaotic Evil races in fantasy by using humans in this role.

Every monster and boss has "Homo" in its name, and the first trailer has someone exclaim "Is that... a human?" in horror. And at least someone in the world will discover that "humans" rule in their supposed future utopia and Go Mad from the Revelation.

The final boss will be "Homo Sapiens".

Bonus if they're a completely normal human man who comes at the end of a Bishōnen Line.

Humans entering the setting is dangerous.

It's likely that, due to the medieval world being a "fantasy", humans can't actually exist there without turning into a monster (hence, the "Homo"-type enemies/bosses).

  • Adding to this, a possible plot-point could be that humans have previously entered there with no issues, but are now turned into these monsters due to an antagonistic force.
  • Maybe that's the reason behind the discrimination of the Elda tribe. Being the closest to humans (or just straight-up humans Trapped in Another World) they are associated with whatever the original humans did.
