The Golden Blade is Sir Rupert Gale.
  • The Golden Blade is a new character to the TV series, a mysterious figure who faces off against Lockwood and who bids on the bone-glass at the auction and is later revealed to be working for Penelope Fittes. In the original novels, Gale also bids on the bone-glass at the auction and is revealed in later novels to be Fittes's personal bodyguard and protector. A future installment will reveal the Golden Blade to be Gale.

Lucy is bisexual.
  • She seems like she might be attracted to Lockwood just like in the books. On the other hand, it seems hinted at that her relationship with Norrie White may have been more than just friendly, that there may have been romantic interest.

DEPRAC will play a stronger role in the series going forward.
  • DEPRAC seems more powerful in the TV series, trying to force Lockwood to fire Lucy because she doesn't have her Grade 4 certificate, threatening to foist adult supervision on Lockwood & Co. and introducing a new character called Sergeant Wade. It's likely more of this sort of thing will be seen if the series progresses.
The reason why technology has never evolved in this universe is because the ghosts are able to manipulate computers and digital devices
Basically what it says on the tin. Similar to the movie Pulse (the 2001 one), ghosts can use computers as a way to invade the physical world - even if there are no Sources present nearby. This would explain why in the opening we see tons of smashed computers, since whenever it is that the Problem began(assuming the 1970s)there was no internet as we know it. However, starting from the 1980s onwards ghosts started using computers as a way to manifest themselves, leading to people stopping using them for that purpose and reverting back to computers as search engines (something present in the series itself).
