Go To

2020 Precure
  • Super Sentai
  • Pirates
  • Angels
  • Chinese mythology
  • Samurai
  • Dinosaurs
  • Vampires
  • Spies
  • Vehicles
  • Rescue, partially confirmed with Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure.
  • Military
  • Insects
  • Robots
  • Vikings
  • Due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, that year's Precure season motif will no doubt be anything that enshrines Japanese culture. Ninjas, samurai, you name it.
    • For that aforementioned reason, the season will have a stereotyped American for a Cure. Can't have a ninja-themed Toei show without the stereotypical American. (Tell that to Jiraiya, Shurikenger, and Kinji).
  • There's a leap year pattern where all the female villains are designed in a way that would never accommodate becoming a High-Heel–Face Turn Precure (Anacondy, Shibiretta, Majorina, Sparda, and Benigyo). Besides there's gonna be a problem having it thrice in a row. Bonus points if the Dark Magical Girl actually has way less redeeming qualities than any of the villains.
  • After voicing minor roles in Heartcatch and Smile, Ryōko Shiraishi will finally voice a Precure, making her role in the Precure-seiyu-voicing-female-Sentai-villains-as-their-first-Toku-VA-role pattern retroactive. She should be eligible because she would be 37 (it is rare for fourty-somethings to voice major Precures). Throw in Ayana Taketatsu and M·A·O (of all people) and we have a complete set!
    • Bonus points if one of the Star Princess seiyu get a promotion to major Cure seiyuu status.
    • Tenjo makes an appearance in the STPC film's opening, which alludes to Aya Endo voicing a 2020 Cure.
  • There is a recent pattern (since 2016) involving the OP and ED songs of each even-year season having the ED being a "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune and the OP sung by the previous year's ED singer. The 2020 OP will be sung by Chihaya Yoshitake and ED by the Cures.
  • Due to proximity to the 2020 Olympics, this season will outpopularity even Heartcatch worldwide. If 2018 Pyeongchang Red Stapler'd K-Pop, 2020 Tokyo might Red Stapler anime like Precure.
    • Among all the shows that contributed anime ambassadors to the 2020 Olympics organizers, Precure has the distinct honor of contributing two characters (Cure Miracle and Cure Magical. Poor Cure Felice...) so this is very likely to happen.
    • Bonus points if this causes a Germans Love David Hasselhoff situation to bias the Western world that is not Italians or niche weeaboos towards the as-yet-unknown 2020 season.
  • Another pattern is that if there's a flower-themed pink cure, the series reaches record popularity - just ask Tsubomi Hanasaki, Haruka Haruno, Hana Nono. Except a flower-themed cure. No doubt the pink cure will be a blonde.
  • Any Cure season on a Summer Olympics year has a green Cure: Mint (2008), March (2012), Felice (2016). Expect a green cure.
  • Precures composed of siblings.

Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure and Tom Clancy's The Division take place in the same universe with the POD being the Byogens encouraging and assisting Gordon Amherst into unleashing the Green Poison and backing the Outcasts or directly attacking the Healing Garden.
This does make sense as Amherst needs the know-how on which virus to put into the Green Poison in his plan to cull humanity's population to more "manageable" levels and what better body to do that than the Byogens themselves. In addition to that, who is directing and coordinating the Outcasts after Emeline Shaw has been taken out? The Byogens would be the ones who would form the new higher ups of the Outcasts as both the Byogens and the Outcasts share the same goals of spreading disease everywhere they go.The point of divergence between Healin' Good Pretty Cure and The Division is the Byogens either encouraging Gordon Amherst to create the Green Poison and unleash it on Black Friday or directly attacking the Healing Garden. JOSSED!

Nodoka has asthma.
She is obviously an ill girl as seen in a flashback in the first episode. She can only run for a few feet before tiring herself out.
  • Nope, it's much worse. Episode 28 reveals that a Byogen Dark Seed targetted her back in her childhood. That sickness evolved...into Daruizen.

The mid-season Cure will be a human version of Teatine.
According to the toy hacks that happened the day before the show's premiere, the Sixth Ranger transforms with Latte. Since Teatine is Latte's mom, it would probably make sense for this Cure to be her human form, as she'd probably transform to save the life of her daughter.
  • When the Healing Room Bag toy was hacked by a fan of the show, it revealed that the Sixth Ranger looks older than the rest of the Cures, as well as the fact that her theme color is purple like Teatine, she has a hairstyle and accessory resembling Teatine's crown and her brooch looks similar to the one Teatine wears in her dog form.
  • Jossed, as Teatinu actually summons Cure Earth.

The series' timing with the outbreak of the coronavirus in China was intentional
Maybe the series was made with the intention of inspiring people to become doctors and nurses so they can put in effort to discover cures for various diseases and illnesses, similar to how shows such as Attack No. 1 and Captain Tsubasa inspired most readers to take up the featured sports. Hey, it can happen.

If there's a 4th Precure, she will be...
Voiced by Chiwa Saitō.

... What? She has never done a Precure!

....be a green cure! we do need more green!

  • Jossed. According to a leak from the Healing Room Bag toy, the 4th Cure is purple.

Hinata has ADHD.
Hinata is very hyperactive, and her attention span bounces really quickly from one subject to another, which contributes to Skewed Priorities (such as gushing over the Cures' outfits in the middle of a fight). She might have a textbook case of it, and, to go along with the health theme of this season, could play a part in discussing mental wellness and how to care for such disorders. She's not "ill" per se, but her mind has very different mechanisms.

This series will be Banned in China
  • Jossed. A taiwanese dub of the season exists.
  • Double Jossed. The show is picked up and dubbed by iQIYI for mainland China.

The legendary Cure that has a statue in the Healing Garden is connected to the fourth Cure.
As mentioned above, there was a toy that leaked the fourth Cure, who transforms with Latte. At the end of their transformation, they mention something about time. The fourth Cure is also implied to be purple due to Latte and Teatinu's theme color being as such and the statue glowing purple in the opening. This could go two ways:
  • The 4th member is the legendary Cure who was yanked out of her time. Teatinu was potentially her old partner, so she winds up making a connection with Latte instead (who is similar to her mother when they were partners).
  • The 4th member is a descendant of the Cure. Her family has a connection to the Healing Garden, so she winds up getting the call due to the enemy popping up again.

This season will be Cut Short and Season 18 will pick up where it left off.
Considering the show was recently announced to be on a hiatus, chances are Toei might cut the episode number to a smaller one when the show comes back to fit the yearly season schedule. Should this happen, the 18th season would be a continuation a la Futari wa Pretty Cure MaX Heart and Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GO!GO! and Cure Earth will be introduced there.
  • Or alternatively, they could cut the number of episodes in Season 18 so that Season 19 starts in February again. This has happened with several Super Sentai seasons, like how Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman had to air 48 episodes instead of 51 so that Choujin Sentai Jetman could premiere in the normal February slot.
  • Jossed. The series will continue where it left off, with Cure Earth's merchandise being released early.

King Bjögen will die.
For the last three Precure seasons, the writers deliberately force mercy on the viewers, making the Precure reason with the main villains instead of truly defeating them, but that is dishonest. While it is wonderful when all the henchmen pull Heel-Face Turns, main villains are not meant to change, it ruins the suspense and satisfaction fans wait for and lies to children that everyone will be redeemed. This has to stop now! Infecting the Healing Garden, planning to infect the Earth, and turning innocent animals into henchmen are not crimes worth redeeming, the precure of this season must see that King Bjögen is a Complete Monster who will reject any chance to change, and maybe even try to kill them. King Bjögen is clearly not going to change and therefore the Precure must use their powers to kill him.

Daruizen, Shindoine, and Guaiwaru will pull Heel-Face Turns.
We all know at least a few villains (not all of them of course) changes to the Pretty Cure's side every season. I feel due to the Pretty Cure foiling their plans, King Byogen is creating new and more capable generals to replace them! I also feel that eventually the three will start questioning Byogen (with the help of the Prety Cure of course!) and realize that their ambitions are threatening both Earth and the Healing Garden, plus King Byogen might order Batetemoda to execute them for betraying him (much like few other villains who change in this franchise). The trio also seems to feature details from previous villains who had redeemed in the past seasons as well.
  • They could all easily take on human disguises like Setsuna and Ruru. Meaning hypothetically speaking they might start to bond with the Pretty Cure and realize they're hurting life on Earth and the Healing Garden.
    • Jossed. Hurting life is literally their mission and they're well aware of it.
  • Shindoine's relationship with King Byogen is similiar to Bibury's relationship with Noir, as in manipulatively toxic. The very moment Shindoine either sees that he's only using her and doesn't really love her or stops being useful in his eyes, she is clearly gonna breakdown! And that hopefully means that the Pretty Cure will be able to calm her down and make her see that now she can live her own life (and maybe find her own healthy romantic relationship).
  • If you remember HeartCatch, Smile, Kira Kira A La Mode, Huggtto, Star★Twinkle and other Pretty Cure seasons from the past, you'll remember the dangers of "final chances" to villains, they tends to similar to real life death sentences, as the Big Bad or another villain gives them dangerous levels of power that tend to be lethal to the villain's energy and body. Remembering that, there's a chance that each time Daruizen, Shindoine, and Guaiwaru fail their final chance and listen to the Pretty Cure when they try to reach out to them, Batetmoda or another villain will appear saying they're no longer useful to King Bjögen and then turn them into a Megabyogen as punishment, planning for them to die in these forms. Yet of course all three times, they will be saved and purified by the forgiving Pretty Cure!
    • Unlikely. King Byogen appears to be impressed by the Terabyogens, since, despite their frequent losing, they still make progress with their experiments.
  • Since we came back on track from the Corona hiatus, Batetmoda is shown to be quite more evil then he acts behind the other generals' backs. It is clear that he is plotting something against the other three, despite the fact that they are all working for Bjögen! Once he does whatever he's going to do, it will obviously be something that the other generals or the Precure will not like. And there is also a chance that Bjögen himself is on this sneaky vermin's plot. So wanting to take Batetmouda down for conspiring against them and tricking them will give Daruizen, Shindoine, and Guaiwaru another reason to redeem and become allies to the Precure.
    • Jossed. Batetemouda perished by the hands of Cure Earth.

Voice of the 4th cure will be Machico.
Hugtto and Star Twinkle had only one vocal album, so if Healin' Good has only one vocal album, how should we keep it from being the first one where the 4th cure has no character song?

Cure Earth will appear in Miracle Leap
Either as an Early-Bird Cameo, or just a regular.

King Bjogen’s endgame will be…
infecting the Earth’s core with his cells in an attempt to utterly destroy the environment.

King Bjogen will pull an As Long as There Is Evil.
Even after being defeated in the finale, while humanity is still polluting the earth, King Bjogen will always be able to return whenever he wants.

Asumi/Cure Earth isn’t human at all. Nor is she a resident of the Healing Garden that can turn human. Instead, she is an actual living statue.
Confirmed.

Cure Grace is actually the weakest cure
Think about it. While Nodoka may be physically weak, and Grace is strong, she has the power of flowers. Flowers need light, water, and air in order to thrive, or else they die. Thus, Sparkle, Fontaine, and Earth are stronger than her. They may be fine fighting on their own, but Grace isn't, and needs the others to support her. Eventually, she won't need their support anymore and will find a way to become more powerful, or will become Weak, but Skilled.

Hinata's mother is deceased.
Only her father has been seen. She may be in a similar situation to Urara and Yayoi, who are both yellow Cures with a deceased parent.

There will be a surprise fifth cure
What if Toei has a surprise fifth cure for us and it is a green cure? Hopefully, it will be true.

None of the Byogens will be spared.
In Kira Kira and Star Twinkle, all of the henchmen had dark origins that screwed up their lives, therefore easy for the main villain to manipulate into joining their plan, so it makes sense for them to not die by the hands of the cures and instead just live a better life after the final battle. But the Byogens? They are parasites, they were literally BORN to infect. They don't and can't have any dark backstory because they were born to be the villains, and they know it. Not only that, but you know how this season's theme is "stay healthy"? Well, I think it's fair to mention that the byogens are diseases. Do you know what diseases do? Make people sick. And do you know what to do when you're sick? Cure the disease. There's no way the byogens would ever be spared by the cures, as they are simply diseases, and diseases cannot stay, or it'll be dangerous.
  • Confirmed. They’re all absorbed or purified- or, in more simple terms, dead.

Daruizen will be the Final Boss
With the revelation that Guaiwaru becomes the next King Byo-gen by allowing the Cures to kill him, there's a chance they might end up purifying him early on, then Shindoine, then Daruizen - who by far seemed to be the most serious of the three alongside as an actual arch enemy to Nodoka.
  • Jossed, as the true King Byo-gen came and took center stage as the Big Bad, absorbing "King Guaiwaru" when he emerged and absorbed Daruizen an episode later.

Manatsu Natsumi/Cure Summer will be making a cameo in the final episode
Really, at this point, we all know she’s going to do it. This tradition of having leading Cures make appearances shows no sign of stopping. But I’m putting this here in the extremely impossible event that she doesn’t.
  • Confirmed. Summer did, in fact, appear at the end.

Asumi is the reincarnation of Teatine's partner.
When Teatine made her wish, the Earth called on the soul of Teatine's partner to reincarnate in the body of Cure Earth (which the Earth created). She agreed, but upon reincarnation lost all her past life memories (as usual) and knew only of her mission to protect Latte and heal the Earth.

The Byogen Kingdom is on Ar Ciel.
The Byogen Kingdom is actually Ar Ciel's surface in between the Grathnode Inferia and Ar Tonelico 3's true end. King Byogen is one of the antibodies who became corrupted when hit with Song Magic containing feelings of malice, so he too became a malicious entity who stopped working for Ar Ciel and started acting like a pathogen, creating more Byogens. The Byogens set their sights on Earth, since if they stayed on Ar Ciel they'd have to fight antibodies. The Pretty Cures purified him and the others long before the events of Ar Tonelico 3.

Saruro is a reincarnated King Byo-gen.
Think about it. The guy hates humans, is no better than the Byogens, has King Byo-gen's voice actor… All signs indicate this is the King reincarnated into an animal in the Healin’ Garden. A fitting punishment, wouldn’t you say?
