The song "Drumming Song" contains a metaphor within a metaphor.

According to this last.fm journal the song is a metaphor for the internal struggle between a woman's libido and her strict moral code disguised as an external struggle between paganism and christianity respectively.

• Jossed. Florence said it's only about being really attracted to someone. Also in many interviews she has stated that she is very inspired by the gothic movement (not the 80s post punk one but the art movement) so the use of religious imagery is to be expected.

Dog Days Are Over is about a woman who falls in love (or lust) and ends up giving up her entire career and friendships to build her life around this relationship. It makes her happy in the short-term, but it destroys her whole life.

And just listen to the verse about the 'killer in the crowd' and tell me it isn't about the Spy! Clearly, what's actually going on in that song is one of the duo was replaced by the enemy Spy, who then drowned the remaining one...

"Never Let Me Go" is about Florence falling victim to Vecna from Stranger Things

Much of "Never Let Me Go" shows her dancing with and falling hard for the same actor who would play Vecna in the series several years later only for him to leave and abandon her. It is this rejection that causes her to suffer a watery twist of how Vecna killed his victims in the series - she ends up being suffocated by unnaturally dark and oily tentacles and drowns in a sea of foamy water. However, the end of the video merely shows a crumpled black mass, suggesting she actually hallucinated the events in the video and in reality suffered the same fate as his other victims through being thrown into mid air, having her body twisted and broken and her eyes gouged out.
