WMG / DOTA: Dragon's Blood

Go To

Anti-Mage will be part of the cast in Season 2, possibly alongside his disciple Wei.

The cracked planet we can see behind the Moon of Selemene, is the previous Moon, the one of Mene.
  • Actually from Dota 2's backstory it's the Mad Moon, which was a celestial prison for the Radiant and the Dire that was eventually shattered, releasing them on Dota's world. No relations to Mene, who as far as we know is also associated with the regular Moon.
    • Surprisingly, it's confirmed: it was indeed Mene's moon that served as a prison, and new moon and new goddess was required to shield the planet from Radiant and Dire debris when the old one cracked.

The Invoker is wrong about Mene being dead.
  • Thanks to him cutting off her connection to, her worshipers and Terrorblade beating her to a pulp, Selemene's power is ebbing. And when the last of her strength fades, Mene will return either in person or as a presence, which the elves will take notice of. And begin to worship her as they did before.
    • It's implied he plans for Fymryn to take her place.
    • Mene herself is dead. Fymryn is a reincarnation of some of her power, brought by centuries of stubborn faith and worship, but does not inherit any of her personality, being more "echo" than anything. And she indeed can usurp the position back.

Selemene wasn't always a goddess.
  • Terrorblade implied that she "made" herself a god. If this is true then it might affect her standing if anyone in the Nightsilver Woods ever found out. They might never worship her again and that may add to the above WMG coming true.
    • If the naming scheme is any indication, she could be a daughter of Mene. Whether Mene herself was a goddess from the beginning is just as much of a question - it could be that all gods are actually ancient elven archmages who achieved apotheosis.
    • Invoker implies he made the weapon with which Selemene killed Mene, but doesn't disclose either's motives for that.
      • Confirmed: When Mene's moon cracked, releasing the Ancients, the solution was to make another moon and use it as a shield, and for that they required Mene's divinity taken by Selemene.

Davion will end up being taken over by Slyrak.
  • Tony Todd will also voiced Davion's body. Thus lining it up with DOTA 2.
    • Jossed. Slyrak leaves Davions body at Book 2's conclusion.

Davion will end up teaching Slyrak some morality over the course of the show.
  • Said morality will be more like Human morals then dragon morals, whatever a dragon’s definition of morality is.
    • Jossed: Slyrak doesn't change his views before leaving Davion, although they do reach common ground on several points, even if from different perspective.

Book II Japanese dub will contain one Casting Gag
Dota 2 never had any Japanese dubs. However, the show DOES. In this case, in any case of Japanese dub, they could as well bring Megumi Hayashibara to voice Lina, as a call back to how in the original Defense of the Ancients: All-Stars, Lina was literally named Lina Inverse, and the role was one of the cornerstone of Megumi Hayashibara's most famed roles. She's definitely Still Got It and most likely will be able to give a different flavor for this more 'mature' Lina (as opposed to the younger, spunky, flat chested Slayer she used to voice), coinciding with her own Vocal Evolution through age.

Selemene made Filomena sick

Perhaps as part of a gambit to attempt to draw her daughter and the Invoker back after they left her and force them to worship her once more. Only for that gambit to fail and Selemene to let the sickness kill her daughter in a despicable punishment instead.

Notably when asked Filomena says she noticed the discolourations that marked her disease, after they left mother. They also share a great deal of similarity on the markings that appeared on the Elf Woman as Selemene deliberately “killed” her on the spiritual plane - except that the woman’s progressed much faster.

  • Apparently, nope: In every iteration of reality where she's born, even if Selemene doesn't stick around, she ends up with the same disease.
