WMG / Casteel Series

Go To

A new ghostwritten Casteel book will come out in either 2016/2017
Why? Because there's a movie from Lifetime in the works, and the same thing happened with the Dollanganger Series (with the Diary series) and My Sweet Audrina (with Whitefern). I hereby predict that it will go over with fans about as well as the other ghostwritten additions (that is, not well at all).
  • After completing Andrews' original series, the publishers gave the ghostwriter a separate contract for future books to be published under Andrews' name. For whatever reason, one of the conditions set by the estate of V.C. Andrews was that the ghostwriter was not allowed to make any future books based on the three series (the Dollanganger Series, the Casteel Series , and My Sweet Audrina) Andrews wrote during her own lifetime. Apparently, the Andrews estate reversed their opinion on this decision at some point in the past few years, probably motivated by renewed interest in Andrews due to the movie adaptations (and by the fact the last of Andrews' siblings, who managed her literary estate, died in 2014). Long story short, if the estate's changed its mind, there is literally no telling how many sequels, prequels, midquels, tie-ins, whatever, that might be approved. God help us all.
    • It has since been confirmed that Andrews' estate reverted to her publishers after the death of the last of the Andrews family.

Heaven killed Kitty by inaction.
  • In the final third of Heaven, Kitty appears to suffer a bout of catatonic depression so severe she requires a nurse to tend her basic needs. Doctors are baffled and unable to determine what caused her condition. It is only after this has been going on for several months that Cal asks Heaven if she remembers anything that could have triggered the depression. Only then does Heaven flashback to a scene not previously mentioned in the narrative, in which Kitty discovered a lump in her breast and went into hysterics before falling catatonic. This information is only revealed to the reader, meaning that Heaven did not inform either Kitty's husband Cal or any of Kitty's doctors about the possibility of cancer and significantly delaying treatments that might have saved her life.
