In late June 2016, Neiderman contacted the fansite The Complete V.C. Andrews that a Made-for-TV Movie adaptation of the series was in the works for Lifetime Television (who had also adapted the first four Dollanganger Series books and My Sweet Audrina). Shooting began in Fall 2017 and the films were aired over several weeks in Summer 2019.

• Adaptational Dye-Job: Heaven is a redhead◊ rather than a brunette. Notable because Heaven's hair color turns out to be something of a important plot point in Dark Angel, and because Heaven thinks of herself as the darker version of her Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold late mother (whose nickname was Angel).
