We follow the life of Khaji Oberg, a boy from a rich family of farmers, which distributes ingredients straight to the crone's kitchen. He's an heir, but Khaji has no interest in following his father's steps. His hobby is deciphering old texts and he wants to become a painter, because he loves looking at girls. He wants to capture their beauty in physical form - portraits. However, one day, his aspirations face a cruel reality: he has a rare eyesight disease, which makes him view the world differently from others. Because of that, he cannot draw portraits correctly. But the boy doesn't give up on his dreams of becoming a painter and starts looking for ways to overcome it.

Fault-STP-LIGHKRAVTE provides examples of:

  • Arboreal Abode: Perchwood, where Khaji and the crew spend free time together.
  • Cliffhanger: The story ends when Ritona is approached by two people who found her relation to Khaji's Lightkravte and want to employ her.
  • Fictional Painting: Portrait of Selphine in Rughzenhaide manor shocks Khaji with it's beauty and inspires him to make his own even more.
  • Foil: Khaji and Ritona, despite interacting alongside other friends at Perchwood, are very different people and face contrasting problems. Khaji is a Genki Guy who wants to serve in a royal family as a painter, but his biological and political circumstances won't let him. Ritona is a Emotionless Girl that is already a famous warrior, with her fate being decided in Rughzenhaide Family, which she hates with passion. Both hate each other's worldview.
  • Humiliation Conga: In desperate attempt to buy a lens, Khaji faces numerous denials and pleas from merchants to give up on it, which makes him fall into despair. Only Ritona's words help him continue to move forward.
  • Invisible Writing: Khaji's hobby is deciphering old texts that use glass mana in order to make hidden messages.
  • Power at a Price: Man can perfom a ritual in order to learn Lighkravte - glass magic, but the price for that power is halving the lifespan of a user. Khaji eventually accepts the ritual and gains the ability to draw portraits.
  • The Power of Glass: The main theme of this story. In order to make portraits without relying on eyesight, Khaji wants to use glass to capture an image. Meanwhile Ritona is a more classical example of using it as Elemental Powers.
  • The Perils of Being the Best: Ritona is the ace of Glass mana powers, therefore she is obliged to be a guardian of Rughzenhaide.
  • He Is All Grown Up: After Khaji learned Ligkravte and made a portrait, his dad and friend-expert of making glass talk, where dad mentions that he didn't notice when Khaji became a responsible adult.
  • Weird Trade Union: Merchants Guild, which has all of merchants in Ruzenkhaide as it's members. They collaborate to not let Khaji buy a lens.
