A story of revenge and its consequences

Vindictive Drive 2 is a Mecha thriller/action game with Cyberpunk elements and real-time Action/stealth mechanics by Balthasar02.

8 years have passed after Arris Fern's bloodthirsty revenge, as consequence of her actions, a bio-mechanical organism known as the Biokernel begins to devastate the planet, the story follows Arris' story trying to fix things as she avoids falling for her old habits, this time in the receiving end of vengeance.

Vindictive Drive contains examples of:

  • The Atoner:
    • Arris, after realizing that killing her father didn't give her the satisfaction she wanted. Even worse after Emma and Cyree are murdered due to her association with her.
    • Hex claims that deeps down she hates her life of crime and wants to put a stop to it. But she also knows that by this point things have spiraled so out of control it has become impossible for her to make any sort of amends.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Arris tries to save Cyree from the police just like she did years ago in the previous game. She fails, due to Cyree reaching the Despair Event Horizon and allowing himself to be shot.
  • The Cameo: Hong Nuk, from Coronia Science Nuk-Eme Project note  appears as one of Hex's allies.
  • Darkest Hour: Things are bad for Arris right at the start. Not only she's targetted by Biokernel, but by Emma's angry fiance, the Tryonate drug is causing mayhem across the city and she's forced to team up with Hex of all people. Significant characters like Eureka and Luna have moved away, America has been kidnapped and Emma and Cyree die.
  • Happy Ending Override: It overrides the bittersweet yet hopeful ending of the first series, which left off with Arris turning herself in and her friends having better lives without her negative influence.
    • Cyree and America are still targetted due to her father's connection to the Tryonate. In order to make a living they're forced to work for Hex.
    • Luna's attempts at running Hexy Bar by herself again have little success because it lost good reputation after Hex quit. Her attempts to turn in into a honest bar instead of Hex's shady black market didn't work and she quit shortly after.
    • Emma was the only one who got a decent life and is about to get Happily Married to her fiance Alarik. Until she gets shot.
  • Mirror Character: Emma admits that Alarik is very similar to Arris. Not only both are green-eyed brunettes, whose names start with A, but both are obsessed with avenging a loved one and have a case of Misplaced Retribution.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Alarik, Emma's grieving husband.
  • Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: The game opens with the deaths of Emma and Cyree.
  • Super-Powered Robot Meter Maids: Not only Ophelia and Amaranth return, but Hex brings more playable robot maids.
