The Atomic Tree is an Idle Game made in The Modding Tree by cornucanis and released in 2021. It has layers which focus on physics and chemistry, with all of them featuring different types of particles.

The game is playable here.

This game provides examples of:

  • Artistic License – Physics: The first upgrade is called "Violate Thermodynamics", as it allows you to produce aether every second from nothing.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each layer has its own color.
    • Energy: Yellow
    • Protons: Blue
    • Electrons: Red
    • Neutrons: Gray
    • Atoms: Green
    • Resons: Pink
  • Diminishing Returns for Balance: Some upgrades become softcapped before their effects are too strong, with the game noting so.
  • Export Save: You can copy the 5KB+ savefile into the clipboard and paste it into a window that pops up.
  • Loot Boxes: Atoms function like a non-paid version. You can classify an atom or several to get a different element, each one having a different effect and rarity. Since unclassified atoms provide a strong boost to aether and Hydrogen's effect doesn't scale well, the game recommends keeping at least a few.
  • Portmanteau: A bunch of upgrade names mash two words together, like "Morether", "Protenergy", and "Protonicallback".
  • Reset Milestones: Starting from the Proton layer, there are milestones which let you keep upgrades on reset, generate 10% of energy gain per second, and buy max of a previous resource. The electron layer also starts providing new features.
  • Shout-Out: The second Electron buyable is called "Upgrayedd".
