Created single-handedly by AironElCrack, Sonic Speed Funk (with memes) is a mod for Friday Night Funkin' depicting Sonic trying to speedrun his own first game, though Robotnik's trying to stop him with memes stored inside the cartridge.

The mod only contains one song, that being the titular SpeedFunk.

The mod contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Adapted Out: Despite being a Friday Night Funkin' mod, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are nowhere to be seen here, since the mod has more of a focus on the chaos between Sonic and Robotnik.
  • Ambiguous Situation: At the end of the Spring Yard Zone section, Robotnik laughs at Sonic before crashing into something off-screen, causing Sonic to laugh at the doctor's plight in response. Of course, we never actually see what the doctor crashed into, be it the entrance to Labyrinth Zone's caverns or something else.
  • Anti-Frustration Feature: Throughout the song, the game will indicate which side of the screen Sonic's notes will appear on, so as not to leave the player confused as to where they are meant to be playing from.
  • Evil Phone: Downplayed, but the main gimmick of the Star Light Zone segment is a pair of phones Sonic and Robotnik both hold, which happen to be magnetic and pull Sonic's HP backwards throughout.
  • I'm Not Doing That Again: When Sonic.exe inexplicitly shows up during the Labyrinth Zone portion, Sonic has none of it, angrily shouting in response. Of course, the demon only has one turn in the song, and is gone as soon as Robotnik shows up again.
  • Interface Screw:
    • When Robotnik shows up in the Spring Yard Zone portion of the song, he comes with three Roblox noob heads, which can spawn images that obscure areas of the strumline. The gameplay also switches to middlescroll on its own for this section to utilise this gimmick as best as possible.
    • During the final section of the song, Robotnik uses a contraption to knock the arrows in Sonic's strumline all over the place, even during his turns.
  • Lost in Translation: This mod is primarily in Spanish, meaning that a few memes and pieces of dialogue may go over the heads of people that aren't in that native language. A lot of the memes can be understood, though.
  • Multiple Endings: During the song, you can collect the Chaos Emeralds by hitting their notes as they appear on the strumline, and the end of the song shows a rough Good Ending and Bad Ending depending on whether or not you collected them all.
  • Reference Overdosed: Due to referencing many memes, this is a given, including leitmotifs such as Megalovania and a tune from Among Us.
  • Troll: During the Marble Zone section, after Robotnik's had his first turn, Sonic takes the chance to rickroll him through music on his phone before his turn. The doctor, to say the least, isn't amused by this.
