A fallen angel, by the name of "Watermelon", who has a broken halo falls from the sky and lands on the ground of a whimsical world. Despite the cute nature of the world, many violent creatures are lurking around. Watermelon must make it back to her home which is represented by the moon by defeating a plethora of enemies in this new world.

"Plushie From the Sky" is a self-described Souls-like RPG that's gimmick is the adorable world Watermelon finds herself in. As the story progresses, more and more information about Watermelon's past becomes evident.

"Plushie From the Sky" contains examples of:

  • Easy Levels, Hard Bosses: The levels are mostly easy and peaceful, but the bosses are incredibly difficult.
  • Edible Theme Naming: The only two names in the series are Watermelon and Pineapple.
  • Heroic Mime: Watermelon never speaks in the entirety of the game.
  • Improbable Weapon User: As the name suggests, Watermelon's weapon of choice is a plushie
  • Plot Twist: The end of the game subverts expectations by confirming the events were caused by an explosion during a gaming session between Watermelon and Pineapple.
  • The Homeward Journey: The point of the game is for Watermelon to return to her home.
  • Trapped in Another World: Watermelon had fallen from her home to land in the new world she must traverse through.
