Tropes :)

  • Actionized Sequel: While made for April Fools' Day and isn't meant to be taken seriously, the mock-sequel reveals that Jim didn't go through with shooting himself, and his door is busted open to reveal a zombie who he quickly headshots before it becomes a wave shooter.
  • April Fools' Day: For 2024, a mock-sequel was released, and goes as following: Jim manages to stop himself from killing himself, and starts fighting zombies outside his house instead, switching the games premise from Psychological Horror to a wave-based FPS.
  • Berserk Board Barricade: As Jim grows more and more wary, he purchases some boards and a hammer, boarding up all the windows he has.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Believing that something will climb out his closet and murder him, Jim kills himself using his gun.
  • Driven to Suicide: Implied at the very end of the game. Jim's paranoia gets so bad he'd rather die than face off his imagined threat. The black square in Jim’s hand reveals to be a gun. He eventually points it to his chin, and the game ends there.
  • Hallucinations: Implied, as Jim starts to randomly sees his door open and close, his TV to randomly turn on, along with hearing things that are not there such as footsteps, scratching, and generally creepy noises. There is also the chance that the stranger messaging him is a figment of his imagination.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: The game uses this as its main source of horror, having creepy noises play and hints of a looming threat, yet no actual monster. The moments where Jim opens closets are timed just right to make the audience dread what may be inside even for half a second, despite the fact that each time, nothing is found.
  • Retraux: It is styled like a classic 2009 Roblox game.
  • Sanity Slippage: Jim slowly goes mad over the game as his hallucinations and paranoia worsen, leading to the point that he is too scared of what he thinks is after him that he kills himself.
  • Things That Go "Bump" in the Night: Subverted, as the game builds up tension about a monster hiding in one of the closets to kill Jim, only for it to turn out the only real threat towards Jim was himself as he points his gun to his chin, not wanting to deal with what he believes is a horrific beast.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Jim's Computer 2, Jim kills what is revealed to be a zombie at his door without hesitation and then proceeds to take on literal hordes of them with his pistol and even a shotgun if the player chooses to buy one.

"There is someone inside my house."
