Guzzler is a Maze Game released to arcades in 1983 by Tehkan Ltd.

The player uses a joystick to control an abstract blue character around a maze, pursued by flames that come from four bonfires. The player's only defense is the ability to shoot water at the flames to extinguish them. After three shots, the player must refill. Scattered around the mazes are puddles of water, from which the player can refill.

Periodically, a cocktail glass appears in the center of the maze. Picking this up will immobilize all enemies on the screen.

Tropes in this game:

  • Endless Game: Like most games of its time, Guzzler has no definite end.
  • Evil Living Flames: They pursue the player through the mazes.
  • Frothy Mugs of Water: In one of the cutscenes, the player character drinks to the point of apparent intoxication.
  • Spelling Bonus: Collecting all seven letters in GUZZLER at the bottom of the screen awards an extra life.
