Gimmiko is a Roguelite video game created by Sorryponiko. Once per year, the night of the Jabberwock comes, bringing demons of the subconscious to life and trapping the world in a neverending night. And, of course, it's up to the guardians of the Gimmick Temple to stop it!
Gimmiko contains examples of the following tropes:
- Adorable Abomination: The Jabberwock is usually depicted or described in a cutesy manner.
- Art Initiates Life: Jabberwock Night can bring specific fictional characters to life as well as collective ideas of various folklore creatures.
- Art Shift: Hapoten is drawn in a completely different manner to any other character in the game, being made out of scribbles that simultaneously give the impression of Stylistic Suck and an Animation Bump.
- Balance, Power, Skill, Gimmick: In a roundabout way. Gimmiko is Balance, Zo is Power, and Merci is Skill. Shiro is Gimmick due to being the playable character during an Unexpected Gameplay Change.
- Bland-Name Product: 1-8-1 is a parody of the shop 7-11.
- Protagonist Title
- Stylistic Suck: The "Beta Icons" mode, which replaces the art of the game with placeholders.
- Youkai: The main types of enemy in the Gimmick Temple.
