Fallout 1.5: Resurrection is a total conversion Game Mod for Fallout 2, created by a Czech team of developers known as the Resurrection Team, and released in October 2013. It's set in New Mexico and takes place a few years after the first Fallout. The story begins with the amnesiac main character waking up in a cave infested by rats and radscorpions after being left for dead. From there, they venture out into what remains of New Mexico to find out more about their past.

The mod was originally only available in the developer's native Czech, but an English translation was eventually released in July 2016. It can be found here.

This Game Mod Provides Examples of:

  • Based on a Great Big Lie: The whole Rebirth organization turns out to be this. The machine to turn ghouls back to humans never worked properly, and the Savior, the First Reborn, turns out to have been a human all along.
  • Break Them by Talking: With a high enough speech skill, the main character can do this. Some examples include:
    • Alexa in Rathole can be convinced to commit suicide after the Thirteenth Reborn exposes her murder of Maria.
    • The Savior can be convinced to make a Heel Realization before setting off the Rebirth base's self-destruct sequence.
  • Call-Back: Being set after Fallout, the mod has a lot of call backs to that game. Some examples:
    • The main character can encounter remnants of The Master's army as well as two surviving Children of the Cathedral members.
    • A part of Sedit is called Little Hub. It was founded by people who fled the original Hub when the super mutants rampaged through the town after the Master's death. A few characters from Fallout make their return here.
  • Call-Forward: A holotape found in PROGEMA mentions FEV experiments being performed on Secret Service agents.
  • Combat Medic: Lystra is this, being skilled in first-aid, doctor, as well as energy weapons.
  • Darker and Edgier: The whole game is this compared to Fallout, . And that game was already grim and depressing.
  • Dead All Along: Leonard, one of the gang leaders in Rathole, turns out to be this. He was murdered by Alexa, his second-in-command.
  • Defector from Decadence: The town doctor in Corath used to work for the Dead Quarter clinic before realizing what they've been doing and quitting in disgust.
  • Expy: Imperial City, a walled-off enclave within Albuquerque, is this to Vault City. Both are insular, high-tech communities who look upon outsiders with disdain.
  • Fantastic Racism:
    • The Rodriguez gang in Sedit hates ghouls, to the point of harassing a local ghoul-run inn and threatening to murder them.
    • The Mutant Hunters kill all mutants on sight. This doesn't just involve ghouls and super mutants, but also regular human beings with minor mutations such as an extra toe.
  • Forever War: The town of Rathole (formerly Kirtland) has been caught in a war between two rival gangs for years.
  • Heel Realization: With a high enough speech skill, the Savior can be convinced that his goal of helping humanity by destroying the entire species was playing into the mutants' hands all along.
  • Kingmaker Scenario: The main character can break stalemates between local factions in two towns: Rathole and Corath. Of course, there's nothing preventing them from just killing off both factions.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: The clinic in Albuquerque's Dead Quarter is filled with these. The doctors kidnap tribals and poor people and forcibly extract their organs in order to satisfy the demands of their rich patrons.
  • Post-Apocalyptic Dog: In true Fallout tradition, a dog can be recruited as a party member.
  • Promoted to Playable: Keri, the daughter of the Crimson Caravan boss who was just an NPC to talk to in Fallout, becomes a party member in the mod.
  • The Hero Dies: No matter which ending you pick (destroy Rebirth or help them attack Albuquerque), the Thirteenth Reborn's body begins to break down. The Good Ending has them committing suicide to spare themself a slow painful death, while the Bad Ending has the Thirteenth Reborn pass away after they help Rebirth raze Albuquerque.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: It turns out not only is the main character a former ghoul, but also a high-ranking member of the Rebirth.
