Old school 3D Beat-Em-Up Action!
Breakneck City is a Retraux-style beat-'em-up game developed and published by Renegade Sector Games and released on January 3, 2022 on PC and game consoles.

When a vicious gang tries to burn down their favorite video shop, Sidney Flintlock and Justine Jacobs take to the streets to bust some heads. Unlike other beat-'em-up games Breakneck City has a 3D pixel-art graphic style and 3D gameplay. Sydney and Justine can punch, kick, and dodge in the same way as other beat-'em-up games, but they have the ability to move in eight directions in a 3D environment and can also use elements of the environment to their advantage.

Breakneck City provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Sidney and Justine are bad-ass girls who want to stop the local gang from burning down their favorite video-game store.
  • Retraux: The game has old-school 2D pixel graphics, but plays in a full 3D environment.
  • Sprite/Polygon Mix: The game's graphics are all old-school pixels but the game is entirely in 3D.
