Bravery and Greed is a Beat'em-up developed by Rekka Games and published by Team17 released November 15th, 2022 on Steam, Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo Switch.

A party of four adventurers, a Warrior, a Rogue, an Amazon and a Wizard, meet in an inn and go from there in an adventure to get richer than kings or die trying. Incorporating roguelike elements like permadeath, randomly generated dungeons, four paths to choose from among Life, Darkness, Chaos and Order, arcana to spice up one's playthrough and a lot of gear options to loot, the game offers a lot of replayability and challenge for up to four players. It also includes a PVP mode and a Horde mode.

Bravery and Greed provides examples of:

  • Barbarian Hero: Aside from the Amazon, there's Gunthar from the tavern and any barbarian the player can free.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Frostfang, the end boss of the Ice Caves, prior to the Spider Queen update.
  • BFS: The Amazon favors a two-handed sword as her melee weapon.
  • Close-Range Combatant: The Warrior has no ranged weaponry outside of any wand he gets his hands on.
  • Deadly Disc: The Amazon packs a chakram as a ranged weapon.
  • Expy: The Amazon is akin to Red Sonja paired with Xena's chakram.
  • Final Boss: Two of them, which one the player fights depends on which path the player chooses in the Dwarven Sky Fortress.
    • Going up to the Throne Room pits you against Joknar the Dwarven King.
    • Going down to the Gold Vault leads to Melghor.
  • Greed: Players can steal gold from the cold, dead bodies of one another. Doubles up as a revive mechanic.
  • The Grim Reaper: Can show up either from the scythe wand or if the Death arcana is in play.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Only the Wizard and the Rogue don't.
  • Jungle Japes: The Subterranean jungle.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: The Warrior's weapon.
  • Lethal Lava Land: The Magma Pools.
  • Magic Wand: The player has access to many wands, a few with straightforward effects, a few more... less so.
  • Magical Accessory: The game contains a fair amount of amulets that grants defensive buffs to it's wearer.
  • Oculothorax: Zhur Gor'od, the end boss of the Necropolis.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: One possible final boss for a playthrough is the Dwarven King.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The Ice Caves.
  • Sinister Scythe: Available as a wand that calls forth The Grim Reaper to hit anyone indiscriminately for some damage.
  • Spider People: Desydera is an alternate end boss for the Ice Caves, following the Spider Queen update.
  • Tarot Motifs: The Major Arcana is used as modifiers for the current run, with a few of them even granting a bonus in collected gold. Some of them do need to be unlocked, however.
    • The Fool allows players to pay a fee to resurrect once per run.
    • The High Priestess grants every player a special wand that fires off a random effect, at the cost of the regular wands being unobtainable.
    • The Emperor adds an extra room in each level where the player can fight dwarves. It's unlocked by defeating the Dwarven King for the first time.
    • The Justice arcana has the chance of adding an Elite Mook that grants a permanent HP bonus if slain.
    • The Lovers makes every player share the same health bar.
    • The Strength arcana allows Gauntlets an additional trait, but allows monsters to deal 35% bonus damage.
    • The Temperance arcana adds additional effects on potions depending on which path you took.
    • The Tower adds monsters in the hallways of the levels.
    • The Moon allows you to re-enter past levels once you reached the Dwarven Sky Fortress. It is unlocked by defeating Melghor for the first time.
    • The Sun makes the corpses of defeated foes explode after a moment.
    • The Judgement arcana beefs up bosses, but grants a permanent damage buff upon slaying them.
  • Tricked-Out Gloves: Gauntlets are an item that contains attack-based enchantments, such as damage buffs, damage over time or status aliments, among others.
  • Tricked-Out Shoes: Boots looted from chests influence the player's mobility, allowing for double jumping, faster movement speed, buffs to dodging and more.
  • When Trees Attack: The end boss of the Subterranean Jungle, Sylvan'uur, is a living tree brought to life by a fairy.
