  • Cast the Expert: Britt Lomond, who played Capitán Monastario, had qualified for the 1952 US Olympic fencing team, and it shows in his duels in the series.
  • Cast the Runner-Up: Britt Lomond initially auditioned for the role of Zorro, and, after Guy Williams was chosen, became the ideal candidate for the villain due to being a fencing athlete.
  • The Cast Showoff: Guy Williams and Britt Lomond got to show off their fencing skills at least once an episode.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: For the show, Guy Williams trained in fencing with the Belgian champion Fred Cavens, who also trained two previous ZorrosDouglas Fairbanks and Tyrone Power, as well as Errol Flynn.
  • Fake Nationality: Anyone non-Hispanic who plays a Californian Spaniard. Guy Williams as Don Diego de la Vega / Zorro especially (his parents were immigrants from Sicily, Italy).
  • Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: The 2008 wave of Walt Disney Treasures DVDs ended the line with two 6-Disc Zorro sets, one for each season.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Annette Funicello had a crush on Guy Williams, which resulted in Walt Disney landing her a guest spot in "The Missing Father" as a 16th birthday present.
  • Short Run in Peru: The HD remaster appeared on Disney+'s Mexico branch ahead of its October 2022 American release.
  • Those Two Actors: Henry Calvin and Gene Sheldon (Sgt. Garcia and Bernardo, respectively) would later appear together in Disney's 1961 film Babes in Toyland.
