• Actor-Shared Background:
  • Jennifer Spence, like Carmen, has Japanese ancestry.
  • Ennis Esmir, like Dave, has Turkish ancestry (born in Turkey, actually).
• Dawson Casting: Laine MacNeil, 19-20, portrayed Ava, who's a 16 year old.
• Fake American: Due to the show being filmed in Vancouver most characters were played by Canadian actors. This includes Emma, Izzy and Nina, with only Greg being played by an American in the main cast. Most supporting characters were played by Canadians too.
• The Other Darrin: Kevin O'Grady plays Gabe, Jack's brother, in Season 1, with Dave Collette taking up the role for the rest of the series. It's especially jarring as the actors playing them don't remotely look like each other, so at first the viewer might be baffled as to who he is after Season 2.
