• Dueling Works: Received a Spiritual Antithesis a year later with Ukraine on Fire, produced by Oliver Stone, which argued that the Euromaidan revolution was a US-backed coup supporting fascistic Ukrainian nationalists. While Stone's film is clamored by opponents of Euromaidan, supporters of the revolution accused it of being anywhere between pro-Russian propaganda and a Documentary of Lies, even moreso since the 2022 full scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Russian narrative of which Stone's work feeds.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Private screenings of Winter On Fire were held by Hong Kong protest groups to share methods and tactics against the police during the 2019 Extradition Protests.
• Newbie Boom: The documentary received renewed international attention in 2022 after the full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine started.
